Im pretty sure any part that goes through a wear and tear process is not covered: tires, wiper blades, clutch, oil, trany fluid, differential fluid, etc) In order for it to be covered under warranty...

I think for many cars the manual actually says to...
I think for many cars the manual actually says to shift to neutral before starting the car...I don't do it but does anybody know if there is a danger in starting in 1st.

That's tough to answer because you can damage the clutch by riding it at 1500 rpm and 5000 rpm. 5000 will put more of a load on there which leads to more damange. But say you slip the clutch for 5...

The z can be started like that too I think...very...
The z can be started like that too I think...very very slow engage of clutch though.
And to Augustus, don't worry you can safely rev it up to 1500 rpm even and engage it at that point if you want...
