With the 1.5 kit and the amount of power you can tune it up to, having the limiter at 7500 is plenty.
I would lower it back to stock once the kit is on and drive it for awhile and see how you like...

I would say no, really no need for it.
I would say the only reason I would do it if I am seeing power all the way to 8k RPM limit. Even then though you will be pushing the block harder and harder...
