Yes, but when they import 90% of their fuel (petro & diesel) that creates huge costs differences. The US is lucky we have lower import needs than other countries, but Europe could import a lot less...

Different scale and different factors in how the price is derived.
Yes, it is higher if you convert it over to USD/gallon, but it is taxed through the roof (worse than the US) to restrict your use.

A lot of it can have to do with where it is import to (which part of the country). In Texas we have a huge chunk of the refineries for the US so it all comes here mostly, we process it and transport...

2.79 now in Houston for 93...let my tank get down to 40 miles until empty and almost put in 50 bucks of gas, I think it ended at 48.xx.
