It was from the same source as the oil cooler. ...

It was from the same source as the oil cooler. No one has any details or knows anything about it though. There was a part number, but it was incorrect.

Supposedly there are factory brake cooling ducts...

Supposedly there are factory brake cooling ducts coming with the 2012 Z's. No details on them yet, but that may be a good option as well.
