I know that you cannot put a non sport guage...

I know that you cannot put a non sport guage cluster in a sport model because it will not allow you to enable the SRM. Not sure if the car get the signal from the cluster or not but I do know it...

if that is the case Z1 sells a upgrade kit for the non sport for around 1400.00 not sure if you would need bigger wheels or not so I would cal them. but depending on what you want to do will...

there is more than just brakes that makes a sport...

there is more than just brakes that makes a sport model. you also have the SRM, rims/tires, spoiler just to name the big ones. The questions is what are you trying to accomplish and that will help...
