it's normal, I have that too. There should be a small amount of play in any clutch pedal, it lets know that you are not dragging against the pressure plate when clutch is disengaged

I just took the spring out and left the assy in there, it makes no difference as far as lateral support goes since the pedal still moves sideways a bit. I want in on the softer spring please :)
