I do the same but if I do it your way the windshield will be hazy. I read the directions a long time ago. I do 2 coats on the windshield and a single coat on all the other glass. After you are done...

I have used it for years. If you rain-x your front window this will help it last a long long time before you need to redo it. 1-2 years.
