Doesn't take much lateral movement to slip it out. Is it likely to slip out? Probably not, but it would suck if it did.

That is good advice. There really isn't any space down there to do a whole lot. If you **** it up bad enough you might even have to take the whole freakin clutch pedal assembly out.
