I wouldn't know how much better the head unit sounds than base head unit b/c I didn't use its built in amp, I used two external amps for my new speakers (Image Dynamic CXS64 v2 & IDQ 10" DVC sub).

Made my Pioneer X4600BT fit flawlessly with the factory trim. No need for a Metra dash kit.

You just need 1/8" spacers to put on the 4 screws that hold the radio bracket. I used white PVC spacers...
