How do you care for matte/ satin finishes?

I want to paint the "fangs", rear valance, and the back of the side mirrors. I like the matte/ satin black look that people have done. I just want some suggestions on how to care for the paint job...

I saw somewhere that with filters you get 6-10 WHP. It was somewhere on the web or perhaps a thread on here.... Feels like 6-10 WHP. I agree, a dyno would be interesting to know.
