Thanks for the details. It's a good bet to test for a wire fault. Even in my case when the roof did not respond at all to the start button it turned out to be a shorted wire near the cover...

Well that's good news Chad. The dealer fixed mine so I did not get a look at the wires before they were repaired and taped over but it was in the same area. I noticed that there is no hydraulic line...

No warranty left. I have seen numbers on this forum as high as US$15K to fix a similar problem. I will be having my local dealer look at the issue but would like to have some fall back options.
