Let's behave/be civil; as civil as the other threads :)

I'm all for a political discussion subforum. It's always entertaining and educational. The only problem is that it's a subject that really gets people fired up, and it usually devolves pretty quickly. About the only subject that would be more divisive would be a religion subforum. :rofl2:

Seems to me that if we are not capable or adult enough to talk about religion or the news, even politics, then we should not post & just suck our thumbs.

If I lose my cool, let me be the first to get banned!!!!!

I completely agree with you, but the mods have pretty much decided that's a can of worms they want no part of. Oh well. We'll have the occasional thread like this that pops up, and quickly shut back down.

I know many 370z owners that post on the other forum because they do have an interest in climate change, gun control, war, energy, economy, religion & how it effects the world, etc, etc. I didn't say politics:)

There are a great deal many people on the internet to whom this applies, but it doesn't stop them :ugh2:

In other news: I'm surprised this thread hasn't been shut down yet :icon17:

In a perfect world, we could have discussions like this. We're all adults, chronologically at least. Unfortunately, there's always that one turd in the punchbowl that will go ballistic and ruin it for the rest of us.

Ban the individual not an entire group of adults & the real world we live in.

I tried to be respectful of the mods desire to avoid politics in my original post. I agree that political discussions can be enjoyable; I also recognize that people go a little nutty when they talk about politics sometimes. Whatever the rules here, I can easily comply. I actually do some climate related work (a small part of my total work), so I know controversy to some extent.

Anyway, hoping not to get furloughed. Less about finances, more about enjoying my job.

If we get furloughed, I'm guessing there will be a mini regional baby boom in 9 months or so.

Sent home without pay. The government employees take it right in the *** when our legislators play chicken with the government.

Nope. They're all ok. It's the thousands and thousands of people who work for government that suffer. The troops aren't getting paid either, right?

Not stupid; yes, if the gvt shuts down, most Feds get sent home.
