Here's a good read, for those interested in shooting better portraits. :)

Anyone here run a Canon EF-S 10-22mm? I'm looking for a wide angle lens. The new Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 looks interesting too, but I'm leaning toward the Canon.

I use a sigma 10-20 which is similar. No complaints from me

That is a great lens. I had one, but my son Colin talked me out of it.

I use a Canon 16-35 2.8 now.

I'm leery on the Sigma. I have a 24-70 F2.8 Sigma, it's not as sharp as I would like when comparing to a similar Canon lens.

The reviews I've read say the 10-22 is L glass performance and quality without the telltale L-glass red ring. People like it that much. Unfortunately the local shop doesn't have one that try. :ugh2:

What you write is true. Everyone I have talked to who has experience with the lens will tell you it is "L" quality. I agree with them. I would take the chance and get one without trying it -- it is that good.

You could always rent one and try it out.
Also, B&H has an easy to live with return policy which would be cheaper than a rental should you decide you don't like it.

No one has one to rent here. I'll buy one from B&H like you said. I have bought from them before, great prices and service.
