Default Track Pads, Oil Cooler, and Fluid

Hey Everyone,

Looking at my first track day some time this spring, so I'm compiling some stuff I need: Oil cooler, pads, and brake fluid.

If anyone has any unused or GENTLY used track pads (like, once maybe?) I'd be interested in buying. I'm not planning to track very frequently, so I don't need F1 quality pads, but obviously need to upgrade from my cheapo Advance brand pads. Looking for sport package pads front and rear.

Would also like to hear from anyone selling a Z1 oil cooler, since everyone seems to be happy with them.

Will take high temp brake fluid off someone's hands too!

Thanks!

I would say this about the brakes. I did my first autocross season with sport brakes and my rotors got pretty much warped in the process.. I just bought a set of stop tech rotors, street pads, steel lines, and racing fluid. If your going to track I don't think the pads are going to save you. I would however say that a good duct/cooling setup with some quality pads will help... The lines and fluid will help for sure. I did a little research on brakes and found that racing pads are great for racing but not acceptable for street use. Sport/street pads is what I would recommend... I think the cooling is the main thing with tracking....other than that I would say a BBK with two piece floating rotors and slotted/drilled would be the best racing setup. Good luck!

Thanks for the input.

Yeah, I'm not really looking for racing pads, because I know I can't street them. I'm just looking for some good, aggressive sport pads that I can pop in and out since it's easy to do on our cars. I've read that people have been okay at track days with high temp fluid and good pads. I won't be going 10/10. If I ever did get real serious with tracking or racing, then yeah, I'd be on Stillen's site ordering their brake cooling kit immediately. I'm debating over the SS lines. They'd be nice to have, but I'm being kind of conservative with my parts binging at the moment. Otherwise, yes, the BBK would be nice to have.

So I did the mild upgrade with crossdrilled rotors, sport pads, lines , and fluid. Im hoping this will be perfect for autocross. I might get to the track a couple times. I think im more worried about my clutch fluid boiling than my brake fluid to be honest.
