Monterey Blue Nismo Front conversion (brand new paint)

***EDIT: NO LONGER FOR SALE***

I just got this back from the shop today and I'm not sure that I want to go this route. So I'm testing the water with a very high, but, maybe reasonable price for you Monterey Blue Z owners... Especially considering the Nismo was not offered in Monterey Blue.

The front end conversion from Z1 (bumper cover, diffuser, and belly pan) is $2100 plus shipping, plus paint.

I literally just got this things home an hour ago and just test fitted it to see how low it rides with the H&R springs and to see if i like it. I'm really not sure... In the pictures it's just sitting on the car. It's clipped in on the sides and there are 2 push pins in the top holding it on. It has not been down the road.

It was painted professionally with Dupont paint products at a dealership.

This is all OEM. The diffuser has road wear on it and we did not bother smoothing out that since it is destin to get scuffed as soon as it pulls out of the driveway lol Thats what it's there for.

Considering the price of all of these parts new and the price of the paint work... I'm going to throw out a testing the waters price of $2000obo for the bumper, diffuser, and underbody pan.

Looks awesome if you ask me.. Just needs an EVO-R or seibon NSM wing to complete the look.

Grindkiezer 06-15-2013 03:53 PM

Why are you selling this? It looks awesome

BrandonSS 06-15-2013 03:58 PM

I dont know... Im just throwing it out there. I may just want to run the sport bumper with a lip... I'm indecisive..

Grindkiezer 06-15-2013 05:39 PM

Like you said, they didn't make any MB Nismos so this is definitely something that makes you stand out. But good luck

BrandonSS 06-15-2013 08:32 PM

i backed it out to see if it would clear the driveway curb... success!

Still not sold on it. But it is pretty damn sexy.

Few more pics for potential interested offers...

I think my cousin TJLAZER was the first to do the conversion on a MB Z.. His looks like it came from the factory. Yours looks great, I'd keep it if I were you unless you wanna be like everyone else just my 2 cents

Not many 370z's around here and I've never seen another monterey blue one in person :) So it's already different for my area. I get what you are saying, just not sure if I want to go another route or not :)

MiStR.NGuYeN 06-16-2013 03:39 AM

looks sick! im in the same boat as you though. i wanted to go that route and convert to the nismo body kit but decided to just get a front lip instead.

red2010z 06-16-2013 03:44 AM

Upgrade those shoes, sideskirts, and rear and you will be set.

Looks great!

Amuse370z 06-16-2013 04:28 AM

I would get an Amuse rear + wing/spoiler and skirts that flows well with the rest of the kit.

antfd3s 06-16-2013 10:14 AM

WOW!!!...Brandon.. That bumper looks sweet on your car dude. Despite its not the whole kit, who cares. Sh+t looks 100% freshier then stock look. IMO(lets take a poll)
You wanted a step up and you got it. I have an Amuse front/Nismo on the rest on mine. Thats what its all about. Give your car its own look. I think the members here would commend you for doing this.(oh they already have)
Im actually in shock right now your trying to do this.

The juicy part:
Everything that i went threw as well for you to have it? Shipping, epic tape packaging etc..etc.. I had a list of local buyers that really wanted all my stuff your selling now. Guys that seemed loyal to the forum. Guys like yourself that would of put a car part before their GF lol .im sure there upset now .. I would be.. Be honest it feels like a kick in the nuts to our community and to me bro.lol I didnt sell my Nismo parts for a flip, you know that! It was to help.
Sorry i just feel like i got played. this is my way of smoothing my conscience.

Xplicit97 06-16-2013 10:51 AM

Hell I recently bought a Nismo for this kit...lol well that and a 6 spd and BBK and sick Rays wheels.

Nooo, take that Nismo kit off and put on a SP..haha

BrandonSS 06-16-2013 12:28 PM

If I bought it for a flip I wouldn't have went through the past 3 weeks of trying to get it painted lol odds are I'm keeping it but after test fitting it I wasn't and I'm still not sold on the look. That's all so instead of sitting on it I offered to see if anyone else was feeling it more than me and would like to shoot me an offer. I will probably button up the install tonight or this week. The car can't move because it needs new tires and an alignment so it's just patiently waiting.

+1. Wow Brandon, I can't believe you are selling this awesome front bumper that you just got off of an unreal deal from antfd3s. There were other members were fighting for it and antfd3s was so kind and let you snatched it. I even bumped it for you. Now I feel like a kick in the nuts too. Lol. Dude, it looks really sweet on your car I don't see any reason why you should sell it...

BrandonSS 06-16-2013 01:58 PM

Fine, lock this up before me not really sure about liking something I desperately wanted and sunk $1000 into backfires. It looks good but not sure it works for me with factory sides. But I'm not going full kit on this car. I like oem+ and a clean look and that was my hope and goal. I appreciate the comments but before I get any more negative feedback for not liking something the way I thought I would, I will just remove this from the market .

I Didn't deceive anyone, I was drooling at the idea and have never even seen a Nismo in person up close until I test fit it on my car. I appreciate the opportunity and I guess it's best to let it grow on me for the sake of everyone's thoughts on me selling. :-\

Sorry guys...

Lock it, please. Not for sale.

tjlazer 06-16-2013 02:42 PM

I say keep it, looks sick. Even without a whole kit.

here is what it looks like with front and Nismo sides. Stock rear bumper:

jlbrenne 06-16-2013 06:36 PM

I say sell it! Paint it black and ship it to me :)

You want me to show you how many ppl were feeling this bumper? my inbox was full within its first hour posted a FS thread on it..lol
OK, all of a sudden your not feeling the look on your car and you like the OEM Fang look instead. Awesome..So why sell everything for 2Gs? You only have at least a G into it if that..Thats a flip!! This is the part when my nuts start to bind up..Did you forget how much I gave you all that Nismo stuff for? I wouldnt doubt u got the paint done in your partners shop so you saved money there as well...that paint wasnt even dry yet and you just so happened to be there? RED FLAG I know i might be tad bit harsh but I feel as member of this forum this doesnt feel right..

red2010z 06-16-2013 08:39 PM

I am so confused lol

red2010z 06-16-2013 08:41 PM

Looks like the paint match is off for this.

BrandonSS 06-16-2013 09:02 PM

What the... ? I bought this thing and wasn't sure I liked it once I saw it in person mounted. I threw a high number (or best offer... I just had no idea what to price it at) to persuade me to give it away if someone wanted it. I drooled over a Nismo hence me having wtb threads. But, once I mounted it I just wasn't in love like I thought I would be. I paid full price for body work and paint. It's through a dealership and he cannot use their stuff for his personal profit.

I really had no intention on selling this so the accusations are a bit much. Even if I were, I bought the thing by offering more than asking price and I've put over double that into it including me driving it an hour away there and back in my jeep and so forth. It took him 3 weeks to get it back to me as of Friday.

I've done nothing wrong... It's no longer for sale anyway so relax. Maybe you will let me trade it for an amuse or something in the future or is that not ok either? Sorry I'm heated but in no way shape or form was I intending on flipping anything. God forbid I end up not liking something as much as I hoped... :-\

BrandonSS 06-16-2013 09:24 PM

And forza, while I appreciate the support*... You didn't bump it for me. I was the second person to reply to the post and by replying I immediately offered to pay (double his asking with shipping) which I did pay that night after he allowed me to. I did and still do appreciate him shipping since he preferred local. But I hope I made it worth his time. His price was a great, unbelievable deal. Once it grows on me I'll appreciate that even more.

Again, sorry I questioned me liking it. Apparently that was a huge huge huge mistake.

Again. Not for sale.

Chuck33079 06-16-2013 09:29 PM

Sometimes things look different once it's mounted. I don't see anything shady about that.

Xplicit97 06-16-2013 10:01 PM

I don't know about all the negativity, my thoughts were based on originality and my own personal opinion. I just didn't want you to end up kicking yourself down the road. I wasn't intending to be negative, at the end of the day its your car and what you like. If you don't like it that's your deal no-one else's.. Sorry if I came off as anything else.

Maybe selling for triple the price of what you got into it wasnt intensional. But it was. For me, I only sold to you cause i thought you deserved it. Not because u gave me more to ship it. It only was listed for $250 all of it. lol Honestly it was a huge PITA but i made it happen for you. Again knowing you were in a pinch and were super excited to get Nismo front, that was i needed to know. Cause i remembered the feeling i got when a forum member looked me out on a killer deal. I knew i couldnt afford the item brand new or used but he made it happen. So to see you re sale what i gave to you on a killer deal. Makes me feel some type of way. You feel me? Thats all.. So you chill. Im not on here to F ppl im here to look out for them like I did for you.

Just an example recently; I got some ceramic almost brand new LTH for hellva good deal.. you think if i do change my mind id sell them(on here) for more then what i paid for them???

BrandonSS 06-16-2013 10:35 PM

Thanks I edited my post. But... I was never in a pinch? I immediately offered you double what you were asking. I appreciate the deal and shipping it but I'm not sure what you want for your actions? I wasn't a charity but you listed it cheap and I jumped on it because it was what I was anxiously searching for! It just didn't wow me once I put it on like I thought it would. I was very excited to get it and stoked to put it on... Then... I stood back backed it out took 100 pictures and said... "Ehhh... It's not bad"... That's not the reaction or feeling I wanted to get from it.

Aside from a thank you and your money... I'm really not sure what more you want? I truly appreciated the deal but, regardless, I still have sank more than double into it (I paid you more than $250 with all said and done. Double. Then I have my fuel (an hour each way) plus dealership body shop rates (I trust him to take care of me) because my other buddy that owns a shop was in Toledo for basf training. He would have been cheaper. So again, I'm not sure why I have to justify my feelings about my car or get approval to list something for sale. The price is justifiable and primarily set to offset the lowballs that were certain to follow.

As for your LTH, if you didn't put any more money into them and drive a 15mpg jeep 2 hours, etc then no, I would not "expect" you to triple the price. However it wouldn't be held against you if the price you list them for is reasonable in comparison to the market value.

Again not for sale now.

Mr&Mrs 06-16-2013 10:37 PM

Who cares if the guy makes money off a bumper you sold him? Thats life learn from it.

To the OP if you do not like it sell it. A front lip will need sides and maybe rear spats though or it will look "off" to you as well.

It's totally fine for you to re-sell the bumper if you don't like it after putting it onto your car. It's also cool for you trying to get back the money you've spent on it, if it's reasonable. But it wouldn't be fair to the members that was local to antfd3s or got inline before you that now instead of paying $250, they have to pay $2000 in order to get the same piece...

That said, the bumper is yours now. You do whatever you want to it. GLWS.:tiphat:

Mr&Mrs 06-16-2013 11:21 PM

With a proper color match like he got your going to pay a decent penny for. Take away the cost of shipping add the cost of a good paint job they may have been out of it for 800-1100 dollars local.

His cost of the part, shipping, travel, paint is probably around 1200-1400 dollars. Like he mentioned by the time someone offered him less and he took it he isnt making much if anything.

At least he painted it properly and didnt ruin the piece. One of those other people could have cheaped the paint job and made their car look like crap. What justice would that do for our car when the public sees it? None.

This thread annoys the piss out of me.

tjlazer 06-17-2013 12:40 AM

Well I can see how some's balls feel busted over this resell, but the harsh reality is, people always do this kind of thing, it's all about the benjamins! But I agree passing on the good faith deal would be a good thing especially if he got a killer deal.

Maybe if he decides to sell it he adjusts his price a little? Especially if he got a homie hookup on the prep and paint? It cost me $650 to paint and prep my front Nismo bumper...

BrandonSS 06-17-2013 12:47 AM

Yeah unfortunately my hookup was out on training and booked for being a week behind in his business. Like I said, the price was literally thrown out there and set to absorb the inevitable lowball offers.

For now I'm gonna rock it. Maybe someday it will come back up. Hopefully with less backlash.

antfd3s 06-17-2013 07:21 AM

It wasn't just a nismo bumper. It was its diffuser and under tray as well.

Anyway I'm over it. Just know when I sell more of my stuff to you I'm charging gas, an oil change, s&h wear & tear on my tires. And all that. Lol

red2010z 06-17-2013 07:51 AM

wish i could have gotten a great deal on a nismo bumper :(

jlbrenne 06-17-2013 08:34 AM

Shame on you BrandonSS for not liking this bumper and then trying to resale it.

I know Brandon personally, and I know he had no ill intentions of doing anything shady. His only downfall is that he is the most indecisive person that i know.
