the reason why i say you need a breather is the coolant rises and falls when you run your car if you plug that then the pressure has no place to go... the original UAM tanks had no breather hole.... after a couple were sold i noticed they were drilling out the caps.... :D if you run your system with no breather it will come out from somewhere else... i promise you that... it wont happen right away but it will eventually.... also if it wasnt needed why would every cars coolant reservoir have a breather hole....

Yeah, I know there is a NEED for the breather, I just thought we were talking about the 4 hoses as the breather, then I was like, noooo... That isn't the radiator bottle, LOL

I have 0, and I do mean ZERO issues with Simota, great guy, great to do business with, hell, if he wants to be the only one coming up with a design, no chap off my hide, I truly :tiphat: to Simota, and will chime in with hopeful designs, that's it

(And if it's in regards to the keeping jobs state side, Guam is better than China, so it's all good there, LOL)

ive never welded titanium in my life.... and i would imagine a trial and error would be costly.... stainless i can do but lord jesus it would take me ages because i dont have a pulse tig..... i only have a invertec tig welder so for me to weld SS with out warping the hell out of it i would need to do a series of welds and then cool off and then series of welds and cool off.... youll see where you stop and start... aluminum is our best friend here.... when we move to our new shop i will get a pulse tig but thats in a year or two

haha... yeh... im going with a breather fitting than to copy that lol

im pulling out my oem tank this sunday to mount my original tank that i made for my z..... my dad and me will start mocking up the oem tank and re design it a bit and start making the jig and templates for it... pretty much after we get the hard part down its just replicate from then on....

simota1 03-21-2013 06:08 AM

i got one for you DE lol.... just so people arent like... hmmmmm i wonder if simotas car is as nice as his welds.... :bowrofl: you guys are all familiar with how picky i am with my car... its the same story with my work ethic... here are some of my lines... this was a rx-7 3rd gen shifter housing... he did a supra engine swap and i fabbed and modified the oem shifter housing to accommodate the new place its suppose to be at....

https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.n...01910415_n.jpg

aluminum is one of my most favorite metals to weld..... im not the best in aluminum but i dont think you guys will be dissapointed ;) now the only part i have to figure out is how to polish the welds and the tank....

simota1 03-21-2013 06:15 AM

and my SS lines...

https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.n...30677776_n.jpg

ill ask my dad if he could make a jig for the SS.... since no one even makes tanks outa SS maybe itll attract more customers.... who knows....

if i had a pulse tig.... my welds would be like a machine... god i love those machines so much :( wish i had one...

Rusty 03-21-2013 06:59 PM

You don't need a pulse tig to weld sheet stainless. I used to weld 18 ga all the time using a Miller 350XL. ;)

And yes, I'm interested in this too. :)

DEpointfive0 03-22-2013 12:32 AM

Arrvaxx 08-11-2014 09:40 PM

Dead for now. I'm going to contact the guy who was making a nicer replacement

Arrvaxx 08-11-2014 09:51 PM

Serious...I want.

If he will do one-offs I'll make it worth his time.

"Soon"

Lol

Arrvaxx 08-11-2014 10:08 PM

:D Fine!

I guess I could wait until April. But I want it before ZdayZ.

And ask him to make a power steering reservoir too. The Mishimoto is round so doesn't feel right. Want a rectangle. :D

Shut up! Don't judge me!

I know who made these....and still does. He's made well over 50 of them.

Why would you ever doubt to go anywhere else bro? You would think you would learn after all the inquiries you've made.... :shakes head:

-Lance

NoirG 08-13-2014 12:39 PM

I might have arc one for sale soon

1cleanZ 08-13-2014 12:53 PM

How many peeps are interested? Talking with him now. Polished or satin?

I'll put in an order for like 25 and just keep an inventory of them. They're about $400/ea shipped depending on finish

I believe you're talking about the guy in CA. His issue is that he needs cash up front. $350 was the last quote I got but it was sketchy

$350 shipped? possibly in Satin finish, not polished

I already paid in full for 10. Once my order of TK Knobs arrives(got in on the last/final order before they announced they were discontinued, on my 4th month of waiting currently), I'll be able to input another order of 25.

DEpointfive0 08-13-2014 01:34 PM

^not shipped

1cleanZ 08-13-2014 01:37 PM

My question is, would people prefer satin or polished? There's a $30 difference.

GaleForce 08-13-2014 02:41 PM

I would take raw so I could powder coat it.

ufoz8mycow 09-14-2014 04:34 AM

Is anybody going to be selling these any time soon? That looks amazing
