FS: Stock NISMO exhaust (with less than 1k miles on it)

Ok, I just bought this exhaust (and I love it), but after seeing the HP gain the BERK CBE has with Berk HFC's (which I have), I am forced to reconsider my choice...

I want to get in on the 2nd group buy of the Berk CBE's, but in order to do that, I need to sell the NISMO exhaust.

Now, just so that people know and understand, this is not the after-market exhaust you can buy from Nissan. This is the STOCK NISMO 370z H-pipe exhaust (true-dual) and not the after-market NISMO S-tune y-pipe.

Before I got this exhaust from our very own, motoextreme, I was thinking it would be the S-tune y-pipe and I was pleasantly surprised to find it wasn't; this is True-dual, peeps! :woot:

Also, I was concerned with the fitment of the Stock NISMO CBE on a stock 370z and again, there was no fitment issue.

I am asking $700 (shipping included) for this bad boy. Retail price is $1200-1300 for the NISMO S-tune CBE, at various other sites.

If you already have HFC's, this guy sounds really nice. Not too loud cruising, but AWOT, it comes to life!

I've gotten plenty of compliments on this set-up. Even my S2k buddies were pretty impressed; initially, they thought I was crazy for going with NISMO with all the other exhausts out there... Heck if Berk CBE's didn't exist, this sale wouldn't even be happening! Just food for thought...

If you're local (Tucson or Phoenix Met.) and interested, I would be willing to help with the install (with a few beers and pizza or tacos, of course!).

So first come (with payment), is first served!

Thanks for looking!

P.S.

I never dyno'd the set-up, however, my "butt-dyno" very much liked the results. As with most of these set-ups, the gain really felt to kick-in toward the middle of the power-band (about 5.5k-6k), which is also when this set-up really started screamin'!

matrix_square 12-28-2009 08:06 AM

good luck with sale... i would consider this, but like u im looking for gains... do u know what the gains are with these?

vipor 12-28-2009 08:58 AM

it's been said that the 18hp difference on the nismo vs reg Z is split down the middle: 9hp exhaust, 9hp tune. haven't seen anything to prove this though. also, that's at the fly

cmmonte92 12-28-2009 11:54 AM

Thanks for the input and for looking, guys!

It's no biggie if it doesn't sell... I just would like to match my underoos top, to my underroos bottom, if you know what I mean...; having Spidey on your bottoms and the Hulk on your top is cool, but it would be cooler if it was All Hulk (although, Spidey is pretty bad@ss, too)!

NewlyIMPORTed 12-28-2009 12:32 PM

how much did you originally pay for this exhaust?

vipor 12-28-2009 12:34 PM

too much :shakes head:

Ouch!

Well how much I payed for it, is a long story and this is how it goes...

I saw moto was selling his Stock NISMO CBE here on the forums and did some quick research. I found the NISMO S-tune (which is not this exhaust, which I didn't realize at the time) and quoted him the price i found and then compared hp #'s to an FI CBE and offered $500, thinking I would work my way up to about $600 (not including shipping).

After talking to him a bit, I told him I was glad I finally found a good deal on an CBE because I couldn't afford the $1200 plus CBE's everyone else was selling, since my wife was 3 months preggo (at the time) and money was tight...

Then he did something un-heard of... He offered me his stock NISMO CBE for about $200 less than what I quoted him! :eek2:

He said that he was ok with his finances and that he was happy to help a fellow Z'er out, especially one with a baby on the way.

Moto's a great guy and his word is as good as gold. I also, wouldn't even dream of selling this exhaust without his blessing, which I have.

So, there it is, long story short... I know that telling everyone this, may keep people from buying the exhaust, but why lie about it...

Integrity and honesty wins you friends and that is worth more than any amount of money in the end. :tiphat:

-Cheers!

No kidding he's a good guy! You're turning around his exhaust to net a $400 profit.

Let us know how the Berk CBE is. I waited as long as I could for it to be released before committing to my Stillen. I love my exhaust, but I'd definitely be buying the Berk right now if I hadn't done it yet.

NewlyIMPORTed 12-28-2009 02:17 PM

well if no one wants to pay you for what you want i shotgun it for 300 haha

Well, not quite that much... I'm guessing shipping is going to be $50-100 depending on where it needs to be sent. Again, if I don't sell it, I still have a great sounding exhaust and I can live with that!

If I sell it, it's only to get the Berk CBE, no other reason. I still need to come up with the other $400 for the Berk, but I will be a man on a mission then because I'll be without an exhaust again!

Ouch! That low-ball, ahem, really hurt my balls! :icon14:

NewlyIMPORTed 12-28-2009 02:48 PM

hahaha 300+shipping basically getting out for what you payed

motoextreme 12-28-2009 02:54 PM

Just a quick note...

I did not represent it as an S-Tune exhaust but simply the one off my stock Nismo. I really did not know there were two different ones however I've heard numerous times that its better then stock. I couldnt tell you why for certain??.. (didnt really spend much time on it.)

If you opt not to use it and sell it for less, I'll help with the loss although I thought it was a good deal at the time.

No worries either way. Not trying to make money off the board guys but simply recover some of my Mod spend, if I can help someone out in the mix then that's even better.

Selling sh$% on the board is difficult, the after SALE customer service is a bit$%. LOL!!! :bowrofl:

NewlyIMPORTed 12-28-2009 03:00 PM

^^ not too sure what that means but yeah i want this exhaust. and Moto you are amazing! i tell people who are not even on this forum about the deals you give.

motoextreme 12-28-2009 03:03 PM

Thanks brother...

Appreciate the kind words. Fact is I hate sh#$ cluttering up my garage so I'm a bit more selfish then you think :)

OK...you guys caught me! I reported the car stolen and now I'm just selling off all the parts. When you see my car all over the board when its done, its going to be just a cardboard cut out :tup::tup:

NewlyIMPORTed 12-28-2009 03:08 PM

You should post that pic from the "need more HP" thread. Shows the benefits of a Nismo Exhaust over stock. May help you move it.

Good luck man.

PapoZalsa 01-02-2010 09:12 PM

Why are alll the deals on the West Coast?

SophiaZ 01-03-2010 04:44 PM

Hold on a minute..... So what you guys on here are saying is that the Nismo Z comes with a different exhaust than if I asked Nissan dealership to order the Nismo one? So I spent over $1200 for the Nissan aftermarket? That's ********!

Not sure how Nissan truely marketed the S-tune, but the exhaust I got from moto, was an H/X pipe configuration (true dual) from his stock Nismo. I looked into the Nismo S-tune and found that it was a Y-pipe, like what the standard Z already had, just with a different muffler.

Moto had no idea what the difference was between the two, as nor did I, being I didn't know that nissan would put a different configuration exhaust on the Nismo Z.

Either way, the stock Nismo exhaust fit my sport Z, no problems.

As for people on the east-coast, the shipping is already included in the price. So, if anyone over there is still interested... ;-)

motoextreme 01-03-2010 11:26 PM

Cancel that order Sophia, get the other and save some $$ :)

Good luck on the sale bro.

Thats the exhaust I already bought and installed haha Thats why I was looking at getting the Fast Intentions...or MAYBE the True dual Nismo if it sounds better....

SophiaZ 01-04-2010 11:19 AM

Still $700?!!! ;)

cmmonte92 01-04-2010 01:56 PM

Yep! However, there's one caveat...

Do you want a screamin' loud exhaust all the time or only when you get on it?

This guy only opens up when you get on it. It does have a nice purr to it though, when at idle...

Not so much "screamin loud" but a nice tone while cruising would be nice. The exhaust I have now sounds ok while cruising and sounds good when I gun it..but I figure the REAL NISMO exhaust has to be better than this one! Plus, I already have the HFC's so that'll improve the sound either which route I go.

SophiaZ 01-04-2010 06:31 PM

I just really hate the raspiness. Does your exhaust have that or is the rasp mainly associated with the HFC?

cmmonte92 01-05-2010 11:55 AM

In my case, I believe I may have an exhaust-leak because I didn't use new gaskets. But honestly, I still love this CBE/HFC combo and really only have one other CBE in mind if I do sell this guy, and that is the Berk CBE to match the my Berk HFC's.
If not, then I'm sticking with this set-up.

SophiaZ 01-05-2010 09:17 PM

I was thinking about getting it out of your possession but I later found out..at the dealership by looking at a NISMO Z..it doesnt actually have true dual exhaust. Has single muffler with y pipe. I'm just gonna go with F.I. with the exhaust...but I still have to sell my stock and Nismo S-tune.haha..and Stillen HFC. Good luck with your selling tho ;)

Hmmm..., the bottom image is of the CBE that I have, off of a Stock NISMO 370Z, and is a dual exhaust.

If the dealer showed you a NISMO with a y-pipe on it, he either put on all aftermarket NISMO parts and is trying to sell it as a stock NISMO or maybe you didn't get as good a look at it, as you thought...

http://i576.photobucket.com/albums/s.../image0012.gif

Also, I believe, under the heat shielding where the pipe has an "H" appearance, there is no physical connection other than the shielding. They are two (2) separate pipes that happen to be joined by heat shielding.

Now, it is true the NISMO exhaust is a single muffler, but with two (2) separate chambers, therefore maintaining a dual exhaust set-up.

Hope that helps!

6spd 01-16-2010 10:24 PM

still for sale? very interested, very!

does this come with the necessary gaskets and other such necessary hardware?

6spd 01-17-2010 08:46 AM

i want this, check pm

motoextreme 01-17-2010 04:52 PM

Chris is a good man, if you work a deal with the exhaust you wont be disappointed not to mention it came off my car so I can attest to the condition, I'm not sure I put 300 miles on it.

Good luck man.

6spd 01-17-2010 05:29 PM
