well, it is a subie after all. :icon17:

actually, a well done rally treatment would be kinda cool I think. Right now, Juno and I agree that we'd rather add the Nismo juke to our stable vs the ft 86/subie version.

This car should be good. Considering the new MX-5 is more fun to drive than just about any car south of 100k I don't see 200+HP / 2800-2900 lbs a likely issue. Car and Driver recently rated the MX-5 way above the 5.0 Mustang and 370z (They hated the Z BTW) and about equal with the EVO X MR so it's not about the numbers unless you race your daily driver for a living and or want something to make up for insecurities elsewhere.

mrcardio 11-29-2011 02:13 AM

Why does a "moderator" have to "approve" my post??? What the hell kind of forum is this? Lol Are you serious? Are you ppl that afraid of opinions of others? It appears you ppl only let members blow smoke up eachothers asses about how great you all think your Z is.. Can you ppl not handle reality and rather live in a fantasy land? You have a bunch of 18-20 yr old punk kids who know nothing about cars circle jerking eachother about how great they're little Z is lol! This is the kind of forum you want? BTW the Z is a POS so don't fool yourselves too much.. It over heats; sounds like ****, shitty build quality, shitty LSD, bad brakes (over-heat, etc), poor visibility, poor feed back from the front wheels and general overall shittyness in general. It's just not a very good car and I think you all realize this but hate the reality checks lol! Oh well you'll should've done your research before you bought the pile. Lastly you all are idiots for putting so much importance on the "numbers" as if the "numbers" really mean a damn thing in terms of being a good drivers car.

m4a1mustang 11-29-2011 08:04 AM

For what it is I really like it. Yeah 200hp and skinny tires might not be impressive to some of you guys, but I'll reckon this is a hell of a lot better than driving a comparable FWD car.

It should be lots of fun.

I agree.

While that torque number is abismal imo, I'm sure there will be plenty of after market support to alleviate most peoples concers and skinny tires just means swapping to an aftermarket setup, which would probably happen anyway for a lot of folks wanting to track with it. Most of the "problems" on this car can be fixed. FWD, not so much...

I am hoping this helps to bring back the entry level sports car.

KaienZ34 11-29-2011 08:26 AM

It looks cool but FWD=:barf:

semtex 11-29-2011 08:32 AM

Uh, it's RWD guys. Where are you seeing it stated that it's FWD?

:icon17: yeah not sure where people are getting that from.

m4a1mustang 11-29-2011 08:34 AM

To clarify, I was saying driving the RWD FT86 would be much more fun than a similarly powered FWD car of the same weight.

Hummmmm, still not feeling it.

azn370z 11-29-2011 08:17 PM

I think both cars looks good but the Toyota has a better looking bumper. The bad thing about this car is that it looks somewhat fast but it's going to leave a lot of owners disappointed when mustangs, civic si, gti, etc leave them in the dust.

If I was in the market for a Japanese sports car I would spend $5k more and get a z, assuming it's sold for $25k.

Red__Zed 11-29-2011 08:22 PM

I could rock that

m4a1mustang 11-29-2011 08:40 PM

I like the look of the BRZ, even without a spoiler. Just looks fun.

I don't think I would ever buy one unless it rocks some serious power (for its weight), but I wouldn't mind driving one.

frostyrock7c 11-29-2011 08:43 PM

If the BRZ STi doesn't get watered down, and utilizes the full STi power plant, it will be a beast. As long as they fix that pesky ring land issue :stirthepot:
