Here's a hint that it might be going turbo after all :stirthepot:

Subaru confirms turbocharged BRZ engine, doesn't confirm turbocharged BRZ

The fa-t is probably going in the new wrx if they use it at all

True, but they could end up putting it in the BRZ as well later on. Maybe for the STi version?

Probably. Will be fun when/if it ever happens.

Sweet! Am definitely interested in a boosted FR-S/BRZ. Either flavor is starting to sound tasty again :D

 maybe I am imagining things, but I see a little of the FTO in the BRZ...

Anyone else think that Toyota might go the supercharger route and Subaru might go the turbo route?

That would be an interesting rivalry.

I could see it, but I bet Toyota is aftermarket through TRD and Subaru factory.

Dude, if this is true...mx-5 status is something very sexy. It seems the general reviews states this is a 2700lb car and not the proposed 2600lbs. Either way, it's still light to today's standards.

Yeah, I'm expecting the supercharger to be a TRD part, not a "TRD car" so-to-speak.

I think Subaru will release an STI version of the BRZ that has upgraded brakes + suspension goodies, and then a "Spec B" or something that will have a turbo and probably be priced around 35k.

This might seem expensive, but it would probably be marketed as a limited run car -- and it would also most likely have extra interior goodies bits as well.

I'd happily pay 35k for the car. It will have a lot of features that aren't available in other RWD cars in that price range (LSD, etc)
