kenchan 02-09-2012 02:46 PM

for a second the car looked like a camaro from the mid 90's with those black stripes on the hood.

Isamu 02-09-2012 03:24 PM

interesting indeed...

Isamu 02-09-2012 03:25 PM

I think... I like it

Waiz 02-09-2012 03:36 PM

There are already several going through testing in SoCal apparently.

This was spotted last week.

I like this car in general, especially after seeing it in person at the auto show.

I wouldn't mind a revamped Eclipse if they would just fire the entire engineering staff that designed it, redesign it from scratch, and not even allow any of the decendants of the original designers, builders, and market anylysts to take part!

the 2nd Gen was GOOD!.. and I even made the 3g look good, and fast...lol
but the third and fourth gens were pretty bad

Brazilbro 02-09-2012 08:55 PM

Mitszu is washed up.. their sinking fast.. they need to bring some life back to their line. Bringing back the 3000gt to go up against the GTR would be a good start. Also bringing back the conquest RWD turbo would be sweet, but I think they are happy sinking in the fun department and are going straight EV.. and weeee all know what happens to EV car companies :shakes head:

interesting offering^ that's like the "here, we can roll it out the factory under it's own power, now... GO BIG!!!" model :bowrofl:

bullitt5897 02-09-2012 11:26 PM

Thats the MOD friendly version!

Rui Z 02-10-2012 01:44 AM

If they offered this model in the U.S. (most likely won't be offered here) I would get this version as long as it was like $4K below the base model. Love the idea of stripped down. They should have taken it even further and gotten rid of the back seat.

i don't understand why manufacturers don't at least make this an "option" for ordering? what's it gonna hurt if someone actually wants to buy one but hates the idea of stripping all the stock stuff out and switch the fascias?

Because it doesn't really save them much, and it adds to manufacturing overhead

HKYStormFront 02-10-2012 09:47 AM

to leave things out? o_O

They could always do a limited run like Ford/GM do for the Mustang/Camaro.
Shell car with the option for a motor, and you can build the car how you want. Drift, race, drag, etc.

Process variance costs money, and causes confusion. Plus, itemize out the cost of those things (ie, paint, interior, whatever) and they cost the manufacturer very little.

while this is true, they will already be offering this variant other places, I don't see it costing them much more... aside from rebadging the toyotas to scions

Did they have production models when you saw them?

I only was able to see these but they were probably not running versions when I went to the LA Auto Show in November

Wow, that's a pretty cool idea!

Looking for some track time while I'm down in Florida in a couple months, I ran into this on the schedule for Palm Beach International Raceway.

Subaru BRZ/Outback *PRIVATE EVENT* :: Road Course
Wednesday, February 22, 2012 - Thursday, February 23, 2012 09:00am - 05:00pm

b1adesofcha0s 02-13-2012 05:57 PM

I guess it was the production version since they allowed people to sit in it. Unfortunately I got there within the last hour of the show and didn't get a chance to sit in it. Besides, the whole reason for me going to the show was on the same floor and took up much of my time. Who the hell cares about a BRZ when you can stare at and drool over an Aventador

Wonder how many people will think it's worth it to pay sticker for the Subaru when they first come out?

holy damn, congrats!

b1adesofcha0s 02-27-2012 01:40 PM

Nice, can't wait to see what you guys are gonna do with it

Also, I read that they will be offering a stripped out version of the BRZ in Europe. I think we were talking about the same thing with the FR-S in here earlier.

kenchan 02-27-2012 01:42 PM

that's cool. i dont really care for the stripped out version perse, but it would be nice to have a model around $25K with some convenience stuff onboard..and the rest would be modded.
