I test drove my sti, and some porsches. When I was shopping for my vette, the salesman said I couldn't td without a credit check. He said, "it's not like you can just drive a 911". I said, "funny, I drove two last week, and they insisted that I drive the new boxster s while I was there."

not many interesting cars out there after all the emissions/fuel economy bullcrap happened.

atleast I don't want racing stripes combined with 22 inch rims while slammed as much as possible. also sideways hat.

to be more on topic. to this day I still haven't seen a BRZ on the road. the toyotas are plentifull.

Part of the Toyota/Subaru tie up with the Toybaru Hachi/BRZ was that Toyota were able to build and deliver 10 vehicles for every Subaru badged car that was built - they both come out of the same plant and get a Toyota or Subaru VIN, so it is not surprising that there are few BRZ's around.

look like brz may not go away...

MagmaRed370z 07-08-2014 06:40 PM

I also think that the BRZ is way overpriced. Increase the HP by at least 50 and reduce the price to about 25k and it will be a very popular car.

I even think 25k is too expensive. Just 5k more and you get a base Z. If you are good at haggling then you can probably get one with sport for 5k more.

if it was 20k for the current BRZ/FRS, then that would be considered reasonable for me.

:icon18::tup: No **** given here either. I'd rather buy another genesis coupe, but it's a long shot of that happening again.

The 3.8 is a good car. The 2.0??? Well they never got that right, unfortunately. Don't mind Kenchan. He's just racist toward Korean cars. Lol.

Now that we see subie is doing good business. Lets see if they can get at least 240 Hp and 195lbs tq. Put a better wheel and tire pkg and can they finally get some brembos or something? Leave the price the same though. They overcharged by a few grand.
The frs should have originally started at $22,000 and the Subaru @ $23,200. Optioned upto the auto should have gone for $25,000 frs and $27,000 subie.
You can option out a brz out to $31,750.:inoutroflpuke:
It doesn't get more laughable than that!!!

Lol... Ken you know you dont like anything Korean with a motor and wheels. :icon17: Not calling u a racist against people ken and it's all in fun.

And yes, I said it. The 3.8 version of the genesis coupe has been fairly reliable, drives sporty enough for it's core market & is an amenity rich vehicle. Most complaints have been on the 2.0.
Can it stand next to a Z? Hell no!!! But it was NEVER intended to. Is it better than the G37? No, it's still a low end version of it. But it's a good value for it's $33,000 price on it's track/ultimate model.

I would take a loaded V6 Genesis coupe with AT for a daily driver type of car.

HEK 07-12-2014 05:06 PM

I sat inside a BRZ and could not get my arse out unless I pulled my left with my arms holding the knee, go figure I'm 230 lbs and have abs, forget about shoulder room....no bueno :shakes head:, this car is made for the lean 150 lb's guys or ladies with mini skirts :nutswinger:

:icon17: haha, reminds me of this fat woman that sat in a S2K long time ago

..would be funny if I was fat my friend, unfortunately I lift weights and I'm a little broader than most people. The seats of the Z hug me tight enough but I can lift my leg to place it on the ground whenever I want to exit the car without having to use my hands to make my knee reach my chest :icon18:

Oh shyt. No lie. 2012 Dallas auto show. 2 fat chix in a miata. One barely rolled out. The other one struggled 5 minutes to get out. Then she had the nerve to say. "They make that damn car too small."
In my head, I was like "BYTCH, you knew you was almost as big as the car itself!! How u even gonna try unless you haVe aspirations to be a sardine."

Only in Tx... Lmao.:inoutroflpuke:

Thats exactly what I did. A loaded 3.8 with 8 speed auto. Absolutely awesome for my crazy commute for a DD. And I dare say, its quicker than the 370Z at speed too, say 45mph+. Other than that, its a bit behind the 370 in EVERY performance category i can think of. But comfort, tech and power for the this price is unbeatable.

Lol @ faster than a Z. Maybe an 8at against a 6mt Z. 7at against 8at. Took that challenge. Hyundai didn't make it.

Is the Civic that good, or is the FRS that bad?

My guess is that the Twins have more work to be done. They should have been able to pull off a one-second win at minimum.

Stock tires on the twins are basically rock-hard Prius tires. They did this to make the car more "fun". (meaning you can break the back end loose without needing a lot of HP)

I have driven these on track. The Twins are really great cars.

Put the same tires on both cars in this test and the BRZ/FRS wins comfortably.

Davey 07-16-2014 02:57 PM

Some better tires and 100 HP and an oil cooler would do a lot for the BRZ. Just sayin'.

I know why they put Prius tires on the car. Conceptually, I understand why the car will be fun on a track. Any car would be fun on a track with tires like that. As long as you have enough skill to keep the car under control, shytty tires make cars slip and slide better. There's no magic to that. Put those tires on a Z and you will have just as much fun or more because at least the power is there. I give RESPECT to the cars balance and LCOG. But the twins need an overhaul of Quality, features, price tag and power
