i would say for me, since i dont have a Z at the moment anyway it would either be the next Z or another 370Z depending on how the next Z comes out, and an iDX NISMO as long as it resembles closely what they are showing and talking about doing with that car in concept form right now :D

Right now I have two vehicles, a newer plain jane daily driver, and my nice weather 370Z. More recently I have decided that having two cars is a bit of a pain in the ***. Two sets of insurance, one car ends up parked on the street etc. I feel like streamlining to one vehicle that does it all. While I love the Z it's not ideal.

Top Choices:
Bmw 228i Coupe (wish it came with AWD)
Bmw 335xi Coupe AWD
Audi S4 AWD
Audi S5 AWD
Infinity Q50 AWD
Infinity FX50 AWD
Caddy ATS Coupe AWD
Lexus IS 350 AWD

You can see by the list I want 300+ Horsepower, AWD and all would have to be 2012-2014 model years. All of them work well all year round even in the snow which we get too much of here!!

Just looking for input, suggestions and would love to hear from others feeling the same way.

You and I have almost the exact same "next car" list. We do live in Canada after all. :rofl2:

Used Audi S4/S5's are still really pricey here in Canada, but I would definitely get my hands on one of those if I can find one with a decent price. The only thing is Audi keeps making these prominent face-lifts on new models that make older models look like crap.

I would not get the 335xi coupe, the 435's are so much better looking, although much more expensive, for now. Also, I would not get the STi. To me the going from the Z to the STi is more of a downgrade (although the Subaru might be/is faster).

Other AWD sports sedans on my list are: CLA45 AMG, 2015 C450 AMG.

If you are thinking of SUV's then have you considered RX350 Fsport, Audi Q5/SQ5, the new X5, or even the Macan S?

Not as commonly seen as the Mustangs and Camaros, and...HEMI! :) Works for me!

I hope he/you have no interest in going around corners properly.

I drive 2004 Porsche Cayenne Turbo with 87k on it, and will definitely be looking at a newer Turbo when the time comes. Nothing like one of those things. Beasts.

Prolly keep my Z and purchase the R36 GT-R a year or two after it comes out. Send it out to get some CF peaces some nice Wheels and meaty tires and have an alpha 10 or 12 installed call it a day.

GT-R? I swear that thing feels like it can accelerate faster in the rain than my Z could on dry (I am not joking).

I love my Z, but I think it's time to move on. A used 997 Carrera S will sure be nice. But I won't be surprised if I end up getting something more practical (and boring) like a 5 Series. I've spent a lot on home improvement in the past few months. I must admit, spending $2,500 on a front door is more satisfying than purchasing any car mod for the same price.

I've though about this a lot after going through last winter with 2 cars and my Z stuck sitting outside all winter :( I'm trying to move to San Diego or San Francisco in the next 2 years but if I don't I will likely be going the WRX STI route.

A hearse?

Nah. I'll probably just least that one

Hard to say much without knowing you personally. So much depends upon what you want out of your car, both your needs and your wants, and what your finances are like. Also, for instance, some people define a lot of themselves by their car and probably can justify spending a decent amount, while others just need something to get around in, and probably should stay inexpensive and spend their money elsewhere. Some people want fun and think they want 300hp, but what they really want is smaller, cheaper, and more fun.

Also, I don't know about your winters, but a FWD car can do just fine, especially if you leave room for dedicated snow tires.

For me, I also tire of having two vehicles. One sits outside, etc. I'm actually trading in my Eclipse for a lease on a Corolla later this week at a pretty decent OTD price/mo.

For me, the Z has been a bump up in car price, and while I love the car and think I've gotten my money's worth, it also reminds me that I only drive it half a year and could do other things with the money saved had I done something else. No regrets, but it's a thought. I doubt I'll do my fun car this expensive ever again, and while the Z is no muscle car, it has given me enough of a power bump that I'm not sure I'll ever need to have something more than it. I do slightly wish I had gotten on the bandwagon earlier than later in the lifecycle, only because I now see the 350z/civic si drivers getting 370z and uglifying them.

Honestly, my eyes would be on a new Miata or whatever Honda puts out for an s2k replacement, and maybe a solid crossover SUV or something as a DD. For now, I can't swing that as I'm still paying down the Z, but that's sorta my 5 year plan. I don't need child seats and none on the horizon, so...sedan is kind of a waste of money and material on me. Crossover at least lets me put down the rear seats and reap some value.

As such, I can't much plan on what's out now being relevant in 5 years.

Still, your list is pretty good; I would look at the Audi, BMW, Infiniti, and Lexus if I were in that list. The Caddy just doesn't do it for me. I'd also want to go slightly cheaper only so I can replace the ugly bits on the cars with AM parts or bolt-on mods to make them slightly more unique than the other 50 I see every day on the roads.

that sucks. wat you need is a garage for your Z to hibernate in.
