the differences between the 3 GTR models is about 20-50lbs of weight and no power differences. so i'll go get a 2014 premium for $85k and only have spent 10k more than the Z/28 and only be (coincidentally) .28 or so slower on a track lol

i'll take the GTR

I would as well. But it is good to see 'murica finally able to make a 3800lb car handle. Nissan was just able to do it with all the creature comforts (albeit slightly slower on the track).

Let's throw 305 race tires on all four corners of either the Porsche or gtr...

It's a valid point. Put race spec tires on the gtr and it'll produce a better lap time than the z28.

And still cost way way more.

That's the whole point. The car, as it comes, is faster on the track than cars that cost more, that's the only point.

Lord almighty, give me strength!

For the extra 10k I'll enjoy the same track time and my music lol

That's great.

The Z/28 will still be faster on the track, which you will never visit in your GT-R, so it doesn't really matter.

Corolla vs pagani. Did you see this one corrola won! You just can't justify the extra cost of the pagani. When comparing the price to performance ratio the corolla stomps it. Crazy... who would've thought!

If the Corrolla came from the factory faster around a track than the Pagani, it would be retarded to buy a Pagani to go to the track in for ~80x's the price.

Since this whole discussion is about being fast around the track.

Nothing else. At all. Period.

Well that's a dumb argument since I corolla could never be as fast as a supercar for 20k c'mon now let's be realistic here bro haha

I think we've beat this to death. If you want to compare price, nothing is in the Z/28s league except for GMs very own Corvette. if you want to pit it against more expensive cars then make them even regardless of price.

The Z/28 is great for those who want a track car, but don't want to build one. Other than that, it's pretty useless.

I will be at the track and drag strip with it once I purchase one. That is a fact my friend lol

I suggest you track your Z then. Arriving at the track for the first time in a GT-R isn't a very wise decision.

The GT3 in the Autoweek comparison comes with race tires.

MC 04-04-2014 10:33 PM

there is a new dunlop tire that comes on the 2015 NISMO like im getting. it is a much softer compound than the current GTR tire with a new more shallow tread pattern as well
but this tire is specific to the NISMO and the 2015 track edition doesnt get it

Ninjahero 04-05-2014 11:03 PM

I see a problem in the ad already. ME and my friend just tested it, I borrowed my mom's GT-R and its a 2013 and I ran a 1/4 at 10.75 .... SOO That show's their data is screwed.

The other thing everybody is missing is that it's probably a hell of a lot cheaper to maintain as a track slut than a $100-150k AWD dual clutch twin turbo techfest. It's a LS7 and big sticky tires.

Give the man a cigar.

I am wondering about the tech that is involved with the suspension and other items borrowed from the Z06. The diff seems like a winner though.
