I don't think there will be many piston issues with the new direct injection setup on the WRX. Piston issues are widely overstated too. I don't really see this as

Piston issues are widely overstated too. I don't really see this as Subaru sucking. Using a 10+ year old engine in the new STi certainly sucks though. I'm holding off not because I'm worried about my pistons, but because I know there is a better engine with far less turbo lag down the line.
