Red C7. Those things look hot! But I heard there is a premium on the C7, is that true?

This is true!! However it also depends on the dealership.

Out of your options I would go with the R8 hands down.

There it is that new viper. Pics don't do it justice.
But out of choices and best all around would be the carrera.

That's a pretty douchy comment in my opinion. This is a car forum isn't it? Plus the OP already said he can't easily test drive the cars due to his location.

To the OP, I've driven 3 of the 4 cars on your list. Bang for the buck the C7 wins hands down in my book and they may be pretty rare where you live. You can get one loaded for well under your budget and some cam, intake exhaust and reflash work can get you 550+hp pretty easy. The C7 is light years better than the C6. If your budget is a firm one, hard to go wrong with the C7.

I think the Porsche is the best all around car (money not factored in) they are really nice to drive, much more refined than the C7, just plain good at everything. All that being said, if money weren't a consideration, the R8 would be my choice. A good friend has one and its is really sweet. Haven't driven or ridden in your 4th car so I can't really comment there. It certainly would be the most rare of the four cars (where I live anyway). In the end though you'd be fortunate to own any of those thoroughbred cars.

Also, if you really want a shot at some feedback I would suggest joining the Rennlist forum. It has about 75,000 members and you are more likely to get info from people that have driven/ridden in your list of cars though it's likely to be a bit 911 biased for obvious reasons. My experience has been they will tend to be much less judgmental about high dollar purchases than this forum will be. Good luck.

Thank you mts for the great feedback. This is exactly what I am looking for.

Due to my location, some of the cars above are not available in the local market and feedback from people that have actual experience in driving them are a big help for me. :)

Thanks again! Reps sent!

It's obvious you have a lot of disposable income to throw away on a $100K car without even driving it. Why not book a plane ticket from your location to Las Vegas and rent those for the day? That way you can at least drive something comparable, if not identical to the car you want and decide that way instead of asking some of us common folk what to do with your money.

Good idea. I will definitely do this if I can spare the time. Thanks!

Theres some good advice.
Figure that someone who has this kind of coin for a car.........
1. Is college educated, and should be able to make sound decisions on their own...
2. If not college educated, Is smart enough to make that kind of "play money" by hook or by crook (either way, kudos) and shouldn't need our advice...
3. Married money (in which case should be asking her, not us)
4. Just hit the lottery, and needs an accountant.
5. None of the above, and just has priorities fu#$ed up.

Whatever you decide, my friend, good luck and enjoy it....all your choices should be a blast to drive.:tiphat:

Not douchy at all. Not apologizing for how it came across either. It is big boy advice. If you're spending that amount of money, do your own homework and not rely on people you do not know. I would also make a decision based on hands on experience. There are cars out where he lives and can make connections with people who has these cars. Connect with them. Going back to buyer's remorse where people make bad decisions because of feedback from the internet. Buying a 6 figure car is not something I would rely on forum members to make. My .02 cents on darn 6 figure purchase.

luigi90210 01-04-2014 01:21 AM

get the new viper

2xtreme1 01-04-2014 09:06 PM

Umm My initial response would be to get the new 911! things are soo sexyyyyy!

Second option would probably be...ummm an R8, v8 would be fine I think..why not?

Would not do a vette..and the early Lambo Gallardos look kinda ugly.

So, it would come down to the 911 or Used R8. Getting a New R8 would definately stretch your budget.

blueranger 01-05-2014 12:06 AM

I would go with the Gallardo.. best looking of the group (IMHO). Just join a Lambo forum and educate yourself on the car from actual owners and then decide

zae757 01-05-2014 12:25 AM

..you need to do the research and decide what you honestly want out of a car:

Do you want a vehicle that people will envy?
Do you want a vehicle that is expensive?
Do you want a vehicle on performance?
Do you want a vehicle that is the best bang for the buck?

With the choices that you've given, it doesn't seem like your looking for performance. You want a vehicle that people will envy (R8 V8 model, lambo, 911 or whatever); get the most expensive one. I wouldn't recommend the viper because the C7 is better in every aspect (performance wise) unless you want to drag race.

Another good option for you to look into would be the GT-R. Your not worried about a 6 or 7 speed manual, so it's another good option for you to look into. The money you'd save (if you bought used) would grant you about 20-30k extra in aftermarket mods, plus it has a "backseat" which would help with the insurance (seeing that you're looking for a 60k+ vehicle, you shouldn't be worried about that). Going from a 370Z to a R8 is a big jump in class so why did you even bother to buy the 370 to begin with?
