First Q50 roles off the production line.
This car isn't popular on this forum, but it's growing on me, in terms of sports sedan styling. I don't know if it will be considered overpriced or not? But I do know I can't wait to get the first official performance reviews and get a test drive. This refined VQ37 is the pre-cursor to the Z35, so it sparks my interest greatly as well.:tiphat: http://stblogs.automotive.com/files/...r-1024x640.jpg |
I kinda like it from the back and the side but I'm not sure about the front yet.
I also kind of like the styling of the car now. :| |
Looks good
I'd definitely consider one if it had come out earlier and I didn't already buy a sedan. |
Looks like a richman's sonata...
I hate the wavy lines. |

I like it as a refined G37 but I hope the Z35 has nothing to do with this. Ditch the shared sedan platform and move past the VQ37, still at 328 HP. |

By then i will be too old to be chasing sports cars. I'll be driving a muscle car on the slow lane by then. lol |

Not really digging the stock look of the sides and rear but I think it has huge mod potential. I am in total agreement with Kenchan, rich mans Sonata. Not enough hp for me...dang Infiniti, really? I am going to have to get a V8 for a DD now...this will just not do.
|
I don't dislike the looks of it but I'm not floored by it either. I guess it all depends on what the buyer is looking for in a car. I like cars that produce some type of emotion when you look at it for the first time. I'm sure its going to be a very nice car for those who own it. Too bad the clean diesel will only be available in Europe.
|
So I never really thought much of this car until I saw this picture:
https://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...72945374_n.jpg Far more compelling than half of Infiniti's marketing shots. Still, I'm skeptical about the overall direction of this platform. It's still a very incremental move when Infiniti's largest competitors are changing things up drastically, such as BMW with their entire lineup getting revamped. |

BMW is revamping their cars but the less for more $$$$ factor is even more drastic than ever. The 180hp, 320i is a horrible value and incredibly slow. Cost $3,000 less than the Q50 with 328hp motor. No value in the 320. Then comes the 328. Which is about the same price. The upside is turbo 4. The downside that turbo 4 still produces 240hp. The 335i is the only car in the line-up worth buying. But it's very unreliable and it's pushing $62k fully loaded? Value issue their. Especially when factoring BMW turbo reliability. The BMW is the Better performance vehicle (BASED on the inexpensive DINAN TUNE). But when you factor in cost of ownership to the MSRP. These two cars really cater to two different income brackets. In spite of similar MSRP's. BMW's cost of ownership is outrageous. |

I like the M56 a lot more, or whatever Qxx they will be calling it. I wouldn't want a heavier sedan with the same crappy motor we already have.

A M56 is over 2 tons... |
..and i happen to like the VQ engine.
|
I'd happily drive one. The outside is somewhere between "acceptable" and "good", and I really like the interior. It would be a nice comfortable daily driver. I'd rather have it than a M37.

Here's a small vid on some of the Q50's features. Direct Adaptive steering has me intrigued. It's another Nissan/Infiniti breakthrough we may see on the next Z. I know it's just another drive by wire unit but??? So many of them are soulless. One thing the 370z has achieved well is phenomenal feedback behind the wheel. If preserving this trait means anything to Nissan? This may be the best non-hydraulic unit out there??? I still like to feel my steering wheels connection to my tires though... Even if Electric steering is perfectly weighted? That missing sensation may impede my driving fun???

Q50 at Texas Motor speedway!!!
|
those 19s are so ugly... :(
|
Other than the name I really like this car. The g35/37 are too subdued for my liking. VQ is becoming long in tooth though. Was hoping to see more advances under the hood.
|
i personally do not like the wavy lines on the side of the car. it's too bimmer-ish/hyundai/kia.
|
Yeah the rear 1/4 view is Sonata like, I wish you hadnt said that bc I hate the sonata styling and all i see in the rear now. Overall though, I think the q50 is refreshing. The G was bland.....but they are a dime a dozen so maybe thats why i feel that way.
|
all sedans are bland. i dont care amg, etc. it's a damn passenger car. why spend good money on something boring that can only carry passengers.
|
Disagree. So you would say a c63 amg is bland and a waste but a g35c is stylish and exciting? There are plenty of sport sedans that can do the job of a sports car/coupe and still carry four passengers in style and comfort. I love "dual personality" sedans.

sedans are just not my thing. you have to accept that not everyone cares about sedans. unfortunately, the Q60 (coupe) doesnt really impress me either from the styling so far. |
I wasnt trying to change your opinion. I was stating that i disagree and making my point. More power to you if you think the opposite of the scenario above.

Good thing about the Q60 coupe is, What we see now is just an amateur render. We still don't know what it will look like??? Lets hope for the best that Nissan won't disappoint. ;) |

I share similar sentiment in the sense that I'm cautiously optimistic. When it comes to powertrains. I'm lost. Nissan just gives out so many mixed messages. That said, I wouldn't doubt if they ended just making "another" Short Q out of the Z... Even though Nissan claimed they wouldn't go that route with the Z35. |
I don't know guys but i think that front end looks kinda tough... I like!!
|
Dam RIP to the G35 simple design. This car looks horrendous. Looks like they ruined their front grill Like Acura did.

Really wish it had two things:
- a lower, sleeker roofline with that C pillar hook sharpened to match. - a manual transmission. |
This car needs more aggressive wheels. The M56S wheels would look great on the new Q50
|
This car makes me think to myself - does the new Mazda 6 look better than this car? Not that they are cars to be directly compared, but only on exterior looks, the thought does come to mind.
|
Damn that's one ugly *** car. Looks like a ******* regular honda accord or some ****.

1. You never seen this car in person 2. BMW and Audi are cars you see from a distance. You may not like this car. But i seen it up close and in my face... It doesn't look cheap like some shytbox accord. . |
