So far, this clay looks like the 2014 Mustangs??? I guess they're going for a dramatic update instead of a complete redesign??? I hope not? They been running this general shape way too long. Ford has been on this design since 2005 models. The style will be a decade old and it's time to make something modern or retro another bodystyle. but this body gotta go!!! i personally am tired of American retro...

If the keep the shape and lose the size it'll be fine with me.

The rear 3/4 is there to stay IMO. Signature mustang line. Front looks very different though.

Not a fan at all of the update since '05. I liked the previous body style, but since '05 it's become one of the ugliest things on the road.

What I fear though, is they're going to do what they did with the Fusion and throw an Aston Martin front grille on it, or something of that sorts (which is what it looks like they're doing from the poster in the background).

Mustang would be an option for my next car but domestic owners hate me. I have a neighbor with a supercharged 5.0 with one of the loudest cars I've ever heard, and the his little son with the 5.0 foxbody.. So annoying and they called my old prelude and now my z rice buckets

Jealousy.

Though, my buddy had a 5PTSLOW license plate on his old WRX, which I thought was funny to drive around with.

Probably would piss them off to no end if they saw that on your car. :stirthepot:

Yeah, but I consider signature when you can look through many generations and find the same body line or style. Thats not the case with the Mustang.

Either way, the front looks nice so far. Just not fond of the rear so far.

I'm not to stressed. Remember the C7 stuff? That was rolling metal. Nothing like it.

Those 2015 Mustang Clay Model Photos Are Actually Old Design Exercises

Quote:

These are not leaked images of the new Mustang, but rather old photos from a blogger event held last year in Dearborn to show off some design studies, according to a Ford spokesperson. As we've seen with LaFerrari, automakers go through multiple designs before landing on a final one.

That doesn't mean these aren't going to hint at what's to come, but Ford says it's inaccurate to pretend like this is a leak.

It seems like the latest Mustangs (and Camaros) can actually turn corners and are even losing the live rear axle. For me, that means they are making the move to "sport" rather than "pony" or "muscle".

Let the Charger and Challenger keep the raw muscle -- make the Mustang less heavy, less bulky, and for the love of god, less "retro" and you have, in my mind, a real winner.

Seems like they are heading toward what the Z33 and Z34 are. Sports cars with some muscle. But since these bad boys run V8's It's going to be improved handling, without subsidizing power. The next gen Camaro and mustang will be sick. Ugly, good looking or whatever. No matter what we think of how they are going to look. They are for sure going to throw down serious power and handling numbers come next gen... :driving:

If they can make a lighter/smaller body with the same or slightly more power, man, it will be one heck of a car.
