Ruined it. Now I'll never be able to unsee it.

Wow, looks even better than the sketches. Interested to see the STI version.

Red__Zed 03-28-2013 11:00 AM

Evo + lfa

neohalo 03-28-2013 11:02 AM

That looks great!

definitely has a lot of evo in it. Many cars are starting to have the same front grill through.

Evo, ford focus, ford fusion, Austin Martin, this concept, etc.

Haboob 03-28-2013 11:26 AM

Looks nice, but as I said before - still four doors. Would rather buy the Chevy SS if I'm going to get a sedan. No more four-bangers for me.

Sibze 03-28-2013 12:28 PM

I like!

ZBro16 03-28-2013 12:33 PM

I'm very likely to be all over a 5-door version of this. I kid you not. We shall see what happens. I will go back to having one car if this thing can be had for the existing price points of the WRX/STi.

Beautiful.

saber 03-28-2013 02:26 PM

*tears of joy*

i want!

Haboob 03-28-2013 02:34 PM

I do like that blue a lot though.

mrthomr 03-28-2013 02:37 PM

I'm not sure how I feel about Subaru making cars that aren't ugly...

My eyeballs melted.

Yeah -- give me a two door version with a park bench spolier and a slick DSG and I'm sold.

Looks very, very promsing :yum:

UNKNOWN_370 03-28-2013 03:36 PM

That video didn't convince me of it's looks. But the engine sounded like pure sex!!!

nuTinmuch 03-28-2013 05:45 PM

Want.

While the engine sound likely isn't the final product, it notably sounds like a 2.0l boxer with equal length headers. This could mean that they've finally dumped the ULHs. This means no "burble," but better performance and better reliability.

This is great.

Myron_Nismo 03-28-2013 06:24 PM

my main gripe with the wrx has always been the econo-box shape. These pics look amazing. If they actually make this I may very well trade the Z for one

DarkJak 03-28-2013 07:13 PM

At first, from the pictures, I didn't like how high up the windowline is, but in the video the car looks much better. Glad subaru gave the WRX its own style this time.

Drex 03-28-2013 08:04 PM

looking good. now let's hope the actual production version looks anything like this concept.

SPOHN 03-28-2013 09:07 PM

2 door please.

JungleZ 03-29-2013 12:02 AM

I knew a lesbian hippie who had a turbo legacy, she will love this car.

I like the sti hatch only

ajc1884 03-29-2013 08:46 AM

I like it. Could it be a Z killer????

I doubt it, unless Nissan really screws up the next gen Z.

apples and oranges.

2-door, 2-seat rwd, n/a 6cyl, low-slung coupe

4-door, 4-seat awd, turbo 4cyl, practical sedan/hatch

They are both fast and fun, but one's a more focused sports car while the other is an all around kinda car that can be driven in nearly any condition.

yeah, but oranges are better.

It's unlikely the new WRX will be a Z killer though, at least in the way most folks think about it. The current model is priced somewhere between $7k and $15k less than the Z, and while it generally comes close to the Z on tight courses (think autoX), it has nothing on the top end of the Z.

The STI is a better comparison to the Z, as they're priced more similarly, but even then built for a very different purpose. I'd say it's unlikely we see a "Z killer" from Subaru in the near future, unless it is because future Z's get toned down (which is a real possibility). Subaru is downsizing engines and building more towards fun than performance these days, and I expect that trend to continue.

Light, tossable, fun, and AWD is their formula. If they finally toss in good looks, well, who knows what will happen.

Kind of disappointing :( I wasn't expecting the concept but this looks pretty far off.
Mebbe in a couple years.
