If you could own one car and why...

If I had to pick something that costs a crap load of money it would be a: Ferrari California (top up ) Otherwise I would like these: S15 (Spec-V) Z34

Great ones quoted so far - I've lusted after them all. For me though, I think the one that would be most fun of all would be a Caterham CSR 260. Nothing else (except possibly the McLaren) offers so pure a driving experience. I don't need top speed.

I want simplicity, the feel of a classic car, good tossability around real-world roads, with world-beating acceleration and ultimate lightness. The se7ens are in their own class, and the CSR is the best of the breed, IMO.

That zonda is way to hard to control. Anyway my car and I will cry if I ever got it. Would be a Audi R8. I would do like Niclos cage did in gone in 60 seconds with elonor. I would rub my hand over her and talk with her before I ever started her. I definitely would be in tears.

It'd have to be the Porsche 997.2 GT3 for me, Euro-spec with the half cage and CGT seating option. Incredible, pure sports car, does everything well (except, perhaps, driving in snow).

Thumbs up

1968 427 L-89 Corvette. There was only 624 ever built, convertibles were even more rare. I want to say 5 red ones were ever made. Former boss used to own one and I fell in love ever since.

After owning one for a year, I'll bet you change your mind on that 'vette. They really aren't very good cars, and the convertibles are flexy as all get out. The only thing they have going for them is looks and sound...

Still, I understand the urge. That's how I got one of my own. It reminded me of what they say about owning boats: the two happiest days are the day you bought it and the day you sold it.

I love Fieros. No, I'm not being sarcastic.
