Now I remember why I never drive the Nismo or ride the KTM RC8R in a group. Too much HP, too little skill, and this is what happens.

With all that horsepower in tow it's just a matter of time before one person in a large group loses all self control and gets the asshat of the day award. Nature of the beast.

That sums it up pretty nicely.

Yeah, it's like people just get stupider when they run with a group.

Mt Tam I am 10-02-2012 10:40 PM

The Ferrari group has several groups within the run. Insane crazy street racer types lead off, followed by those who will speed and in the rear, those who obey all speed rules.

My buddy and I were in his 360 towards the rear of the mid group, when a CHP officer spun around and nailed us for not having a front plate. The officer said he'd forget the lack of plate and we'd tell our "buddies" up front to watch out for bikers and slow down.

Rule #1 --- Always stop to help. You'll never know when you'll need it.
Rule #2 --- Let other guys be in front and be the crash test dummies.

Dallaz 10-03-2012 12:17 AM

I wonder what the person in the Dually was thinking!

Out of nowhere 2 cars just fly by him...........well 1 car fly's at least....... Then BAM!! Front row seats

I've been on very similar cruises only 2 lanes and have seen someone first hand end up in the ditch same as this guy. Much more rewarding driving the speed limit and knowing you'll still be able to drive again tomorrow!

Kingbaby 10-03-2012 12:26 AM

Also cruises shouldn't be the time to learn the limits of your car!

Group runs are great when folks are of the same skill level...

Many folks just DD there sportscar then on the cruise thinks its HPDS time...

Sucks watching every time lol for him

Ahahahahabahahahabahahahabaha

Stupid driving, but it happens, but to not stop and see if everyone is alright is downright retarded.

why would it be a crime? Not sure down in the states and im pretty sure its only one province here that if you have first aid training you have to stop. Me personally i would see if the guy is alive and then laugh and drive off. ******* retard. He is the reason why car clubs get in ****. We had a Evo cruise recently, 20 some odd cars and we got pulled over for no reason. Cop checked everyones **** and once he found out everyone was good to go and couldnt give any tickets, he said "slow the hell down" yet we were going the speed limit, if not slower so we could get pictures and ****.

I did some looking up, I guess it's more of a misdemeanor and will get you a potential fine if you fail to stop and help someone. No jail time.

I want to say it may be part of a Good Samaritan law?

If you dont have first aid training the only thing you can do is see if they are moving and call 911. If you do not have any type of medical treatment training then you can be sued, even with training you can still be sued...lol.

A few weeks ago me and the gf were driving home and i seen 2 kids in honda civics drag racing. One of them wanted to try and drift his car through the left hand turn (through the median) and go into the parking lot. Lost control ended up going 180 in the ditch. The girlfriend asked me if i was gonna stop and make sure they were alright. I pulled into tim hortons so she could get a coffee and i called the cops and reported them. Theres no legal obligation saying i have to stop and help them, even with first aid training. (At least not in this province)

quicksilverCC 10-05-2012 11:33 AM

I don't care what somebody does, if they have an accident (being dumb or not) then they obviously did not plan for that and could in fact be hurt. If you don't stop to help somebody or at least see if they are ok, then you are an a**hole. Everyone has done something dumb in their life at one point or another, don't act tough like you haven't or pass judgement. Hypocrisy is a weakness.

Just yesterday a guy in a truck starts speeding up a hill in front of me, in the pouring down rain, loses traction and crushes into 2 parked cars. Was he smart? Hell no. Did I think he was dumb for doing that? Of course! Did I stop to see if he was ok? Damn right I did, because I'm not an a**hole

theres a difference from a guy making a bad choice in speeding up during rain and a guy showing off, going WOT on the wrong side of the road. Yea i would have stopped for that guy in the truck, but i wouldnt stop for someone showing off saying "hey look at me and my fast car, watch how fast i can go on the wrong side of the road"

Idk who he is. Some people were saying he came late to the cruise and showed up as the cars were leaving. He hasn't identified himself on FB or any forum, but one of his friends has been giving some updates. I think the guy might have replied to a comment on the video though.

No, the major part of that Good Samaritan law is that it protects you if you do help someone w/o medical training. As for those with training, I think it's required that they help someone in need, otherwise they could lose their license if it's found that they don't (this is what I hear from friends that are RNs and such).

Either way, if someone's seriously injured and innards are exposed or there's a lot of blood, and I decide to stop and help - There's going to be one extra body to pick up off of the ground, 'cause I'll pass out from that stuff. :rofl2: I can't handle too much blood or anything exposed that shouldn't be.

The good samaritan law only covers you if you are trained. If you come up to a scene of a accident with no first aid training and try to apply CPR or apply a tournique, you can be sued by the person in need of help, unless you have applied consent (ie if the persion is unconscious) However if you have some sort of first aid training and you do what you are trained to, then the good samaritan will cover you incase of a law suit. In Canada, if you have Saint Johns Ambulance First Aid training (which everyone in the military gets), they will cover your law suit if you follow the proper training.

As far as i know, only 1 province in Canada requires you by law, to assist if you have first aid training. You will not be sued in any other province if you dont help. I've been to plenty of accidents and helped out. 9 times out of 10, ill stop. Only time i dont is if medical services are already there or if its impossible for me to get to the scene, ie if im on a bridge and traffic is preventing me from turning around.

Oh, I guess I misread it. Screw that then, I'm not going to help anyone.

Snakes709 10-05-2012 05:00 PM

Well all that being said you can still help. Doesnt mean you will be sued. Just means you could be if the person you are helping, wants to sue you. I came up to an accident and offerd first aid to a women that was pretty ****** up. She asked me if i got m training in the army and i said yes. She said she hates the army and didnt want my help. So i said **** it and left.

what a b!tch!!!!

however, even if you got training -whether or not something goes wrong- the person you're rendering aid to can still sue you. it doesn't mean that person will win, but there's still the posibility that person can say "well, i wouldn't have 3 broken ribs if that guy hadn't performed CPR on me after I flipped my car" :shakes head: sucks but it's true

Exactly, best thing is to just stop and call 911. It's a very delicate situation and leave it to the police and EMT's to handle the situation properly. People these days are looking to make any excuse to sue and say they somehow got hurt. As much as one wants to help, it could sadly end up slapping you in the face.
