Default 10 cars they can't wait to drive.

Z not included... lol. Check out the stats on the upcoming miata and mustang, though impressive. It looks like the FR-S 2800 lbs will be totally eclipsed by the upcoming Miata's 2200lbs and possible turbo 4. They are guessing the Miata will have 150hp. If Mazda is smart? It will have 170hp. that would be enough to blow the FR-S out the water on the track.

Cool list.

Z is probably not on it because there are so few details and the details that nissan has shared have not been that great.

They like Nissan well enough, but Nissan isn't paying them enough to praise the Z. They're directing their marketing funding towards the new Altima.

I bet nissan used all their marketing dollars on the GTR.

It didn't really set lap records, they paid for that too.

lol you don't have to market the car when the numbers market themselves.

But the Z was never going to set lap records.

Heck, can you explain why the FT86 is the media's darling? I mean, I like the car, but you read a few articles on it, and you'd think it was God's own gift to the car enthusiast...

And it's numbers are FAR from impressive. It's more expensive, slower, and less practical than hot hatches in the same segment. It's a hard-top Miata. But the magazines say it's so wonderful.

I agree with everything, except the challenger, Lexus iS and caddy. Any changes will be a let down by those three because they tend to play it safe with the designs. The future mustang is interesting, but the rendering I've seen make it look like rip off of Japanese and European imports. The front in that rendering looks it belongs on an Mitsubishi Evo VI. The roofline and silhouette could be mistaken for a Z....

Now that I look at it even more, the design as a whole could be mistaken for an Aston Martin if Ford continues to copy their trapezoidial grill design.

Really like everything on Mustang rendering except the side windows.

So are next G and Z definitely going in different directions? The diet plus smaller motor claimed for the G sounds like exactly what they said for the Z.

Five thoughts

1) If the new Mustang looks like the rendering, looses some pounds, and gets fully independent suspension then I might consider getting a Mustang for the first time since the 89-93 5.0

2) The Alfa 4C better come to the US that thing looks fun.

3) The 911 GT3 is going to be sick.

4) The new Z is going to have to step up it's game.

5) I really like that my fears of the push for MPG and emissions restrictions leading to hybrid and electric everything and the death of sports cars is turning out to be false. It has actually done what I have always wanted....lighter cars with more effiecient turbo, or high compression DI engines.

I agree with all your thoughts. New mustang looks sweet for a change. With its reduction in size, weight and independent suspension. A TT v6 stang wouldn't be bad either... I wonder if the camaro will be able to step up? Major threat...
The Z... wow. I really hope nissan does the right thing. This epic fail of a refresh makes me have a lack of confidence in the future of the brand. Solid news of an FI motor may restore my confidence though...
The Alfa. I'm just happy they are back from the dead. I used to love the milano back in the 80's. lol Why? I don't know. But to me, it was the shiznit. When Alfa, peugeot, renault & citroen left the US, the compact car market became very bland.

When the challenger loses 500lbs? I'll be intersted in one.

If the new miata really drops to that weight, it's going to be incredible fun!
