I do not fault a teenager for wanting such a vehicle. I too would have wanted it. I wanted a Pantera at his age. I got a 1965 Corvair instead.

I do not fault a teenager for wanting such a vehicle. I too would have wanted it. I wanted a Pantera at his age. I got a 1965 Corvair instead. Why? My parents were not buying any car for me so I was left to my own resources.
I drove the hell out of that car and ran amuck. My 95 HP Corvair did not break traction either. I know had I had a Pantera, yet alone a 660 HP Mustang, the car would not be alive today. As for me and others, who knows. I can mash a pedal faster than I can learn to drive a car. I know this now. At 16 I'm not so sure I would have admited this.
