On a track car with a cage and proper harness, sure. But on a street car I'd like to retain the side airbags.

The GT is morphing into a true sports car--propaganda aside (recent "sedan" photos)--and I might well buy one, but not until they put IRS under the car in 2015, assuming Nissan doesn't do anything to beef up the 370Z. So far, my 370Z is the funnest car I have owned, as a package. Including my C6 Z06.

I drove the 2011 5.0. I honestly must say I loved the ride. Not over the 370 but the ride was awesome. We are basically missing torque. I still feel the Z gives more feeback and to me feedback is everything. I don't doubt in a competition the stang may very well Out-Everything the Z. But in feel. The Z still feels better imho. From seating position to steering heft, cornering. I just prefer the Z.

Interior... the stang has improved materials in the car... but I can't stand the layout... its horrid and the gauges look like they should be power wheel dash stickers for a kids power car. The Z has the best layout hands down and its only weakness is the third eye appearance. But I have never had issues not seeing the lights due to the sunlight like some have claimed in the past.
Looks fit, finnish and drive feel go to the Z. Power, price to features, maneuverability for its weight and size, go to the stang. What kills the handling for me is it rides too soft. I think a BOSS 302 may change my mind with insertion of the red key!!!! :) I still prefer the inferior Z. And not just cuz its more rare. :)

Next generation. I will add another car to the stable. It will be another sports car. The candidates will be

The new Z if FI?
The BRZ refresh STi, if FI?
An evo if still made?
The next gen mustang or camaro? These cars are honestly insane packages and can only get better.
A used GT-R. Must be a 2012.
A used ZL1.
A used corvette GS

I'm just glad we have so many ATTAINABLE choices again. And there are more sports cars that didn't make my cut. They are also great cars... So glad we aren't in a sports car dry spell like 1996-2004.

Are you not scared of GT-R maintenance?

I am pretty much in the same direction. I am also considering the new "Alfa Romeo 4C" that is supposed to come out late 2013... I am also looking for something cheaper that I like: MazdaSpeed3, Hyundai Veloster Turbo, Honda sports car?

I drove a 2013 Mustang GT Premium w/ track pkg 3.73 gears 2 weeks ago and really liked it, but I am being honest and not a fanboy in saying I like my Z better.

The Mustang had more power no doubt but the Z just fits me like a glove, I feel so connected to the road in it. I am still amazed at how often I get random compliments from people about my Z and how sharp it is or catch people rubber necking @ it. Not to mention I see about 4-5 Mustangs during the day and see maybe 1 Z a month in the wild.

But I agree the Mustang is really nice and I would have no problem owning another one, Ford did a really nice job with it.
