Well looks like you'll be getting a 5.0 next and an s2k after that :bowrofl:

haggomyeggo 02-13-2012 01:54 PM

I know right. Steve is buying cars faster than I can buy them after him...

There's a good 1.5-2 year interval between each one so that's how long you have to save up for the next one. :icon17:

Also if you plan on staying N/A gut the OEM intake box and put in a performance filter. The OEM box makes the most HP of all the intakes besides PWJDM and J's both of which will run you around 3k...

good buy and happy modding bro!

Haha, I love the S2K in red or yellow. I think I'm going to leave the car mechanically stock.

In all seriousness though, that is a sexy car. I have always had a thing for the s2000.

Thanks bud! I'll be sure to PM Jeff. :p

Nice choice!

Back in 2000, I chose between S2000 and Celica. Bought Celica.
In '06, chose between S2000 and 350. Bought 350.
In '09, chose between S2000 and 370. Bought 370.

I think I need an S2000. :icon17:

You DEFINITELY need an S2K!

Great color choice and nice set of cars you got there. I think one day i would love to get a roadster like an s2000 or mx-5. Both cars are super fun I hear.

Steve, What are the plans with the S-2000?

Thanks! I think the MX-5 would be really fun as well.

Plans are really just to freshen up the interior, get a set of summer tires when it warms up, and probably add the OEM front lip and perhaps the OEM rear spoiler. It's a great car in stock form so I don't have anything in the way of mechanical plans. I don't want to add an exhaust because I think it'd just be annoying.

I like Redline stuff. I just need to look into it some more and see what most people are using.

What Steve is trying to say is that he was in the ghettos of Philly. Every big city has them and it's not a place you want to be if you absolutely don't have to.

Cars look great Steve, can't wait to see the s2k and person and get a ride in one. I've never driven/rode in one before.

I spent the better part of this weekend cleaning the car. I took both seats out to vacuum the carpet, then cleaned it with 3M upholstery cleaner. Very clean and fresh now.

I also removed the rear trunk lining to clean it with the 3M stuff as well. I did uncover a leak in the trunk -- the seal for the rear vent is broken, so when you wash the car the bottom cavity of the trunk can flood depending on how you spray the rear of the car with the hose.

Thankfully the fix is simple -- I just need to pull the bumper and rebuild the seal. I would have done it this weekend, but it got so cold on Sunday I was afraid of breaking the tabs. It's going to be warmer this weekend so I'll take care of it then. Until then, I'm rolling around like this:

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-p...212_115626.jpg

The tape measures are in there to make sure I could fit a suitcase in the trunk. :icon17:

b1adesofcha0s 02-13-2012 02:10 PM

So does that mean I can drive it then? :icon17:

GM_Traitor3.5 02-13-2012 02:10 PM

Shahid might need some more experience with a manual transmission before getting in the S2K :stirthepot:

Look forward to seeing the car this weekend hopefully! Haven't rode in an S2K since 2001 (one of the first AP1's on the east coast at the time). But back then, first thought I had was "this thing is a go-kart for the street". When those cams switch profiles at 6K, it's just a whole different experience.

Wow, I just noticed your new addition. Congrats! I'm definitely jelly. There are times when I really miss my S2k.

Are the seats stock or did you already order the clazzio seat covers? I don't remember the 05s coming with red stitching.

I will try to make it out this Saturday, but I've got a laundry list of stuff to do so we'll see. Might see you later though for the festivities.

Speaking of seats, I also ordered some seat locks since apparently these get stolen a lot.

Oh, and I want a OEM hard top for it now.

The OEM hardtops like kinda weird looking IMO... although a gloss black hardtop might look pretty sick on the bright red.

Jeffblue 02-13-2012 02:27 PM

i like the hardtops a lot. There seems to be 2 different ones, which one do you like better?

They are also expensive so it would be a ways away. But maybe ahead of next winter it'd be nice.

I agree, black hardtop would look really sweet on the red

m4a1mustang 02-13-2012 02:27 PM

Jeff, I hate the one that makes the car look like a Z4 Coupe. If I wanted a Z4 Coupe I would have purchased a Z4 Coupe. :)

FuszNissan 02-13-2012 02:29 PM

The black hard top looks nice.

I see this thread is "trolling" nicely

phelan 02-13-2012 02:30 PM

the fastback option looks retarded.

I've actually never seen the hardtop style in that first picture. Agree with Steve, looks way too Z4-esque :shakes head:

But yeah, the OEM hard top is really the only one I like. Plus the wraparound glass helps with blind spots.

i'll keep an eye out for an oem hardtop so that when you don't want to buy any more mods you will have no choice but to jump on the good deal.

toxik 02-13-2012 02:36 PM

thanks for the ride home steve, I'm sorry about all the kids starting with us, i shouldn't have worn the chaps with the pink wifebeater.... it upsets people all the time. I can't believe a democratic state is still so repressive against us! this country is full of hatred, I'm moving to Canada!

If you do find a good deal, definitely let me know. :icon17:

NewlyIMPORTed 02-13-2012 02:39 PM

yeah that fastback is a spoon top. If im not mistaken you lose all accessibility to the trunk with it. it is also over double the price of the black one.

Rooster89 02-13-2012 02:39 PM

Great looking car steve! Needs gears :P

Not going to lie, I have never seen the fastback hardtop but i kinda like it :yum:

What has Mrs. Mustang said so far about it?

phelan 02-13-2012 02:40 PM

really? the whole trunk? it looks like it still has the ability to open...

m4a1mustang 02-13-2012 02:40 PM

This is the front lip (and splitter) we are looking at:

I pick her up from the airport tonight (hence the tape measures in the trunk), so we'll see. She likes S2Ks as well and has wanted one for a while, so I'm sure she'll like it.

If we do bring both cars to ZDayZ she will be piloting the S2K and I'll drive the 5.0. Still figuring out how much it will cost to get both cars ready, though.
