Making progress. My buddy blew his engine to pieces and almost cracked the block in half. Has 4 holes in it and a nice crack runing down one hole side of it. Anyways he is going with a new long block from AMS or MAP. So he sold me his head and Tomei Poncams for $900. I found 2 bent valves so i removed those and the only damage to the head is 2 busted valve guides. $170 to fix (parts and labour) so no big deal. Debating if i want to replace those 2 valves with the oem ones from my head or say **** it and go aftermarket valves and springs. Think im going to go aftermarket even though the cams allow you to use oem valvetrain since its only a mild cam (intake = 260, Exhaust = 250). Anyways heres some pictures

Gotta bring the head to work tomorrow to give it a nice bath..lol. |

So an update. The engine is at the shop getting the measurements of the bore, cylinders and valve seats. Theres a few little nicks in the seats so i might have to go +1mm over with the valves. Parts list is as follows... Engine: Ball Bearing FP Black, 25psi WGA, hiflow oil feed line and ported 2.2L Stroker kit with a Manley 94mm crankshaft, Manley I-Beam Rods, Wiseco Pistons (86.5mm) ACL Rod/Main Bearings Tomei Cams Supertech Valves (possibly +1mm overbore) Supertech Dual Valve springs Ported head Ported Intake Manifold Ported Exhaust Manifold MAP Oil Cooler ARP Main Studs ARP Head studs Drivetrain: Jacks Transmission Stage 0 tcase build (pretty much just replaces the orings/seals and gives it a good cleaning AWD Motorsports Lightweight Aluminum Driveshaft Torque Solutions Differental/Driveshaft solid bushings Other stuff: AMS Lightweight Battery kit (since my oem battery is dead) AMS AC Delete Kit (dont use it and i eventually want to get the car to 3000lbs) AMS Lightweight Front Crossmember The new goal with the car is to have 500hp, 3000lbs and have peak boost by 4000rpm. |
Ok so i might as well update this. Took a break from the car to get my ZX6R back on the road. Heres a few pictures of before and after. (still needs the gas tank repainted and dyno tuned)

The build is progressing slowly but will pick up this summer. I plan to have the engine built and back to me in October. I get out of the army on May 10th, got a job lined up that ill make alot more. In october i get $75k from the army. $38k goes into RRSP's, $10k is taxed which leaves me $26-27k to throw at the car and debt. So i picked up a used tcase for $700 from a car that was written off and being parted out. MAPerformance is releasing a new T4 twin scroll kit for the EvoX and there is a group buy on it. So im going with a T4 twin scroll 6266 turbo. Which will get me ~600hp and im jumping to a 2.4 stroker/bore block + fully built head from MAP. So that will get me my 4000rpm peak boost that I want to hit (or quicker). The car as it sits...
