GTR for 33k???? LOL
found this in auto yahoo
it was a 2011 GTR Premium listed for 33,350 I emailed the seller she responded I appreciate your interest in buying my car. The Nissan is in perfect shape, never been smoked in, without scratches nor dents, and it has never been involved in any kind of accidents. I legally own a clear title, free of any liens or loans, under my name. It has 7,557 miles, for sale at $33,350. The price is below the market as I recently divorced and I don't own a driver's license, therefore I don't need it, so I'm trying to sell it as soon as possible. If you have any other questions, or need more info, please feel free to ask. |

In for more details! I think I'd be obligated to check into this! Sounds like the episode of Alice when Mel got his dream Porsche from a divorcee for $20! |
I just found a video of the GTR. Looks pretty good.
|
While it's most likely a scam or mistake, it is possible her lawyer was just that good. Hell there's a guy I know that bought a custom chopper valued at $15k for only $4 because of a divorce situation so this does happen.

any way to confirm? like vin# if this has salvage title to it

Do you also know the film that spawned the show...? 200 points for correct answer :p |
Wikipedia makes things like that too easy :) Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I know of two different people who picked up cars for cheap due to disgruntled ex wives. One guy picked up a 80's Porsche for $1 after a wife caught her husband cheating. Another guy I know picked up a C5 Vette for 1k after a divorce. I mean chances are this deal is too good to be true but if anyone is close to this GTR it's definitely worth a visit.
|
someone better jump on this deal right away before it get away..

I'm seriously thinking someone local to the sale needs to go check out that GTR. If nothing else, it would be easy to turn around for a profit. |
Sounds similar to one i saw, 2012 GT-R for 15k. Things obviously didn't add up and made even less sense after talking to seller. It was listed in one location, he said it was in another (Try 4 states away), and the carfax for the VIN he provided said it was somwhere else (about 4 hours from the second location). He claimed the same thing, was getting a divorce and had to get rid of it. Catch was he wanted 3k deposit sight unseen lol

REsponse
VIN# JN1AR5EF4BM240249 Please let me explain to you the process of this transaction and you can decide if you want to proceed or not. As I told you in my first email, I recently got divorced. I also got a new job and moved to Omaha Nebraska in order to start over. I'm in Omaha Nebraska but my presence won't be necessary because I prearranged the deal with PayPal. The car is in Omaha at the shipping company, ready to be delivered. The deal includes free delivery and it will arrive at your address in 3 to 5 working days. You will have 5 days to test it and inspect the car prior to making any purchase and if by any reason you find something you don't like about it you can send it back at my expense. If you want to make this deal I need the following details from you: full name, address, and phone#. Once I have your info I will forward them to PayPal to get things started. PayPal will contact you shortly after they have the details with all the information that you need to complete this deal and you will also have proof that I am covered by them and a legitimate seller. Waiting for your email with the requested details. Her listing says she's located in NY and name is Toddy. o.o http://autos.yahoo.com/used-cars/nis...n&distance=any |
but does it have a super rope dispenser?
http://travelingsocialite.com/wp-con...00-300x189.jpg in for someone local to check it out. |
it's a scam. it's always the same song and dance. Dead/divorced husband, no need for car anymore. Car is waiting in the middle of nowhere at a shipping company and you can only get the car shipped to you, you can't come see it. You have time to inspect it after it is delivered. they are entertaining to read, but they get annoying if you are trying to look for parts or something and you have the same listing spammed all over the place.

Dude, there is NoOo way someone is willing to be that accommodating with an $80k vehicle. To let you drive the car for five days with nothing but your name, address and phone number? Forgeddaboudit! That car (provided it evenn exists) is probably hot as Hell.

That link is by far the best story of messing with a scammer. When the thread first blew up you didn't have to register, though... Basically the guy got a Nigerian scammer to get tattoos insinuating he was gay, and then got the guys friends to do the same. He then harassed the scammer for like a month. Well worth registering if you've got some time to kill. |
I almost bought a $42k bulldozer for $20k but then I woke up and realized it was a scam. I kept telling the lady over email to let me come look at it and that I would tow it but she insisted that it needs to be shipped for free. What's sad is, someone probably fell for the scam at some point, making it worthwhile for the scam artist to continue his efforts.
