Probably more like 5.0 mph. :|

This assumes no tumbling, because I can't calculate the correct answer.

Mustang has top speed of 260 mph* and we have the physics equations to prove it.

Under ideal conditions. Results in non-ideal conditions may vary.

While the mustang would go splat upon impact, a Jaguar would land on it's tires every time :p

Looks like a Control Blade IRS.

Looking at the mule pics of the Mustang a question comes to mind. Is it possible to replace the SRA with an IRS?

If there was a bolt in system available, yes.

I think someone could sell a lot of a develop a good one

Are there any ford cars with IRS that are on the same platform that could be used?

It costs millions of dollars to develop. It would never happen. Especially since the SRA setup is so good to begin with. Cost-benefit doesn't add up. Any company that invested to make a good bolt in unit would only sell one or two and lose millions.

Remember in addition to the suspension parts you also need new brakes, lines, parking brake bits, differential, drive shaft, shocks/springs, etc.

I just keep seeing so much crap about the mustang not having an IRS and now they are going to it. Is it that much of an advantage?

m4a1mustang 06-07-2012 09:11 PM

If its a good IRS setup it can be advantageous. If they get it right I welcome it. But I'd always take a good SRA over a mediocre IRS setup.
