Yeah I couldn't remember if it was a total replacement or of it was a new platform joining the mix.
A Dodge Barracuda would be very weird, though. |

Maybe. All I know is now I have that Heart song stuck in my head.

Fun Fact: While diving in waters populated by Barracuda, you should avoid wearing shiny watches or jewelry. A Barracuda could mistake the glimmer for a fish and strike at you. They can swim at up to 27 miles per hour.
The more you know. |

Also, Evolution Performance out of PA went 10.02 @ 141 with their '13 GT500 on slicks and bolt-ons. I think they are building the car for a magazine article so all of the details aren't out yet.
Edit: from someone there they say the only power mods are long tube headers, pulley, and tune. |

Since we're kind of talking about everything here, these are some shots of a 2015 test mule. If you look closely you can tell it obviously is running IRS. Look at the wheel nut and then on the rear shots you can see the spring cup and some other bits.
( Click to show/hide )
For background, the S197 chassis was originally designed to accommodate IRS. The first GT500 was supposed to get it, but for one reason or another it didn't work out. Ford designed a bolt-in test system for it that you can see here, where it was found in an old warehouse: DrivingEnthusiast Blog | All about the missing S197 Mustang IRS Obviously the one in testing now is quite a bit different as you can tell from the pic. I also notice in these pics some nice front calipers and the rear rotors are definitely bigger diameter. If everything comes together as we expect (~3300lb curb weight, 450hp) the new car will be even more of a beast than current. The only question is how will it look. |

The 2015 Mustang will not be faster than an F-22 Raptor. I think they've set their sights too low. |
