WOW, it keeps on going. That's the part where the Porsche, R8 & Lexus LFA engineers throw the towel :icon17:

Because the GTR is the flagship and a clear winner in everyone's mind. Have you ever had one of those ricers Honda challenge a GTR. I get those all the time in the Z ;)

So is the track model going to post sub 7:15 on the ring?
Maybe once the new model comes out the 09's will finally fall into the low to mid 50's

i think the offiicial lap time is gonna before the "regular" GTR.... i would like to see a time for the track one but i dont know if it will be announced..

for the same reason that they ran the specV when it was released but didnt announce the time....

the GTR director in the past stated he only wants a time for the normal GTR not any special versions because thats the car the the majority of the customers but

but there is a lot of pressure now with the LFA special edition lap time not to mention the ACR...so they need to post something mind blowing to stay in the game

Still no true manual?:shakes head:

I mean I know the DSG posts better times which is essential to the marketing of the GTR, but I really wish they would put a real manual in this car for those of us who like to row the gears.

:tup: I just hope DSG-type transmissions come down in cost enough to be on Z-level cars sometime in the next several years. Something tells me before that happens though, the world will have moved on to all-electric sportscars in the mainstream anyways. The ideal setup seems to be 4 electric motors, one in each wheel, with a giant battery pack for the short term and a tiny fixed-rpm gasoline generator separately in the trunk that serves as a battery recharger for longer cruising. With that sort of setup you get AWD, instant torque at any speed/rpm, perfect traction control, awesome regenerative brakes, and no shifting necessary at all. They trounce traditional cars in theory, it's just matter of time for the engineering to be perfected and the component prices to come down.

Halo cars get the love. The 370Z is not a halo car.

well played sir :bowrofl::roflpuke2::bowrofl:

eager to see what happens with the R35 before it's done. it would surprise me if the next Z doesn't have a dual clutch automated manual transmission similar to the GTR's. they may still offer a tradition manual trans for those who prefer it and because of it's cheaper cost, but i don't see them putting a torque converter automatic in the Z anymore... at least i hope not (though the 370's 7spd is pretty good for a slushbox)

I'd prefer to row the gears, too. That wouldn't prevent me from buying one. That'd be the sticker price. :roflpuke2:

Dissappointed in no option for a traditional 6-speed manual transmission. At least give consumers the option to choose.

i'm a huge fan of the traditional 3 pedal manual setup (my truck has the same 6 spd transmission your 370z has, just without SRM unfortunately). but, if you've driven a car equipped with a dual clutch automated manual, you would know it's the best of both worlds. you get the control, strength, and power delivery of the manual while getting the ease of operation of an auto. other than cost, i don't see any downsides. just because you aren't pushing a clutch pedal doesn't mean you aren't involved in driving the car

Glad to hear that the Egoist is coming over to the US. I saw the one they had sitting at the Nissan HQ building in Tokyo last November. The car had a pearlescent (sp?) green hue to an egg shell white paint...then had a Pink WWII Bomber style interior. Definitly a different setup, but the coolness factor was that you could custom order your GT-R in about 1000 different color, paint and trim combos.
