Gunmetal, silver, graphite, different silver, light black, dark white... I think the red one must be an aftermarket paint job. Surprised he didn't go for flames. :roflpuke2:

i think Nissan also has contracts to paint Japanese Battleships.. economy of scale and all..

Actually, in the world.

FromG2Z 10-02-2011 09:18 AM

yeah no silver for me...

Dan, on another note, here's the GT500's I promised you I'd have pics of :D sadly, they won't go on the 5.0 till December seeing as I don't even HAVE a car yet. LOL.

I also finally managed to upload the pics I took of the used kona 2012 I test drove a couple of weeks ago. I keep looking at this for now (and yes driving to the dealership too) and hope it holds me up till my actual car gets here :D Difference will be, decklid spoiler, brembo rims/brakes, strut tower, and of course, mine will not have dirt on it like this has. :)

But there is just something about this Kona blue that can't be explained in pics ;) absolutely love this color

Though I agree that the z looks better than the 5.0 in some aspects, there is so much more to a car than looks. Though looks are subjective, I feel the 5.0s looks satisfy me in different way. It's sexy in its own right :)

I thought I'd miss the attention the z got me, but i think that got a little old. I'm ready for a more subdued experience.

Oh I agree I need the car now.... What's sad is ill prolly get to drive it for 1 or 2 weeks before storing it. :( I will get it installed within a few days of getting it :)

Dan on another note, have u heard of the new mgw shifters for our cars? Read some reeeeally good stuff about it. Reviewed by svtperformance. Supposed to be a 100% improvement over stock in terms of feel, quality, and performance. 375 bucks tho. I'm debating.

shadoquad 10-02-2011 09:41 AM

The stang is pretty ugly, but performance and four seats are nice for the same dollar.

Sorry shado... I disagree. Looks are purely subjective. I look at a new GT and GT500 and I love it, but in a different way of when I looked at my Z.

Deadman 10-02-2011 09:51 AM

im jk around hehe. I agree more to a car than looks, and if I get tired of the Z ill buy something else... thus far though i am happy! Enjoy your new car :)

That's fine. We can disagree. I posted my opinion. Not downing the stang. Just think it's ugly and imposing, like all mustangs.

Alchemy 10-02-2011 11:39 AM

Again, Im begining to respect the performance, not hating (although I kinda am) but the Stang is:barf: The interior is terrible, imo. Those mufflers g2z got look like poop. Im sure they sound beast though.

shadoquad 10-02-2011 11:42 AM

I think the interior looks nice.

Lemers 10-02-2011 11:43 AM

I think the mustang looks just as good as the Z. Just Ferrari Vs Lambo different.

b1adesofcha0s 10-02-2011 11:58 AM

Z has a more sleek and exotic look while Mustang has more of a muscular look.

Lemers 10-02-2011 12:01 PM

I would be happy with either.

b1adesofcha0s 10-02-2011 12:01 PM

I prefer the more exotic look of the Z.

Lemers 10-02-2011 12:04 PM

What about the power of the mustang?

b1adesofcha0s 10-02-2011 12:10 PM

Oh yeah definitely.

Lemers 10-02-2011 12:47 PM

So does the power advantage of the mustang out weigh the looks advantage of the Z?

I've already said that the Performance and Four Seats of the Mustang are better for the money. We were talking about looks alone, which I think goes to the Z, but that's subjective.

As for what advantages outweigh what, that is also subjective. The biggest reason why I don't have a Mustang in my driveway is that I had already bought a Z, so a trade makes no financial sense. The second biggest reason is that I'm happy with my Z. But I respect the Mustang.

Alchemy, I respect ya. You know how much I loved my z (still do). I think interior looks are also subjective. Again for me, the interior of the stang is different...catering more to a retro look versus the zs futuristic techno look... I respect both. I haven't had enough seat time in the stang to comment purely. But I like it. What i CAN tell u is the quality. Sit in one. Feel it. Touch it. Look at the gaps. That's what I did. It's on par if not better than the z.

As for the mufflers, I agree the quality of that gt500 muffler I got was no where like my invidias. But that's easily remedied by the myriad of MANY MANY other aftermarket exhausts available. I got mine for sound and cost.

Lemers, I have a feeling ur considering switching from the z to the stang? Lol. Don't drive one.... Because that's what i did. Look what happened.

But tell u what it was NOT just the power that won me over. It was superior to the z regarding transmission (since I've owned a z, I feel I am qualified to make this statement). The z transmission is too loose, rattly, and grinding in ways that make me cringe. It was also embarassing to my wife, friends, and other passengers and passersby who all ask "what's that sound". Then i have to say oh that falling apart sound? That's normal." The stang is just not like that. It's how its SUPPOSED to feel. Add to that the 5.0s engine smoothness all the way to redline. No vibration no ear grating sound. The 5.0 makes me want to actually take it to redline all the time.

only way I went through with this is because my trade value was MORE than what i paid for my z a year ago :) I reeeeeally got a good deal last year on my z. plus I got my new one for under invoice too. Hehe. Wife would have never let me do this if it weren't for that.

For all of u others that feel so strongly against the 5.0, I totally understand that. If u don't dig it, that's ok. looks are subjective, But what i do ask is before u pass judgements on concrete things like how it drives or feels or the quality, have an open mind. Sit in one, feel it, drive it. If u still feel like its "Crap", then fine. But tell u what that's exactly how i felt initially, but Ford made me a believer. I have LOVED nissans infinities all my life. I still do. It's just that now i love Ford too. Lol

FromG2Z 10-02-2011 02:02 PM

Shado btw thanks for the pm. I totally understand. We are all car guys in the end. I love all cars, just some more than others :) I was one of the lucky few who got a chance to own, drive, and enjoy a Z, an iconic sportscar. I enjoyed it immensely despite its quirkiness. But now i am looking forward to my new tenure with the upcoming beast. Hehe.

The mustang look is a bit of an acquired taste. It's unique for sure. It is definitely a different style than I've been into in the past.

Saying the interior is terrible is really looking with blinders on though. It's definitely uniquely styled, but the quality is pretty solid.

shadoquad 10-02-2011 05:48 PM

One of the things that I prefer about the 370Z's styling over the Mustang is that it is more distinct.

Now, please understand that I'm placing this in the context of aesthetic design, so I'm not saying, "dur hur exclusivity" or "the mustang isn't fast". Those are not where I'm going with this.

But when I see a 370 from a distance, I think it's either a 350-370, or it's a Porsche, maybe a Vette, but that's pretty much it. It's a sleek, low-slung two seater, and that's the design that I love.

When I see a Mustang from a distance, it does not stick out as much to me. I do see many more of them on the road, so the design has aged more quickly to me. Also, they are a larger four seat coupe. There are a lot of large, four seat coupes that have roughly the same body size, including Camaros, Accords, and most other coupes on the road.

So, in my view, the Mustang is less distinct and maybe less daring than the 370's design. The 370 looks like a budget exotic. The Ford is American Muscle. It's more about how it runs on a track than what it looks like in a showroom.

Lemers 10-02-2011 05:50 PM

My biggest knock on the Mustang is that due to the V6, there are way too many out there. I can go weeks without seeing another 370Z but the mustang (even the latest body style) sometimes I can't go a block without seeing one. So if I were to go down that road it would need to be a special edition like the boss or Shelby.
