Default Brake Question (2001 Ford Escape)

Tonight as I pulled up to the curb along my house I went to hit my brake and the pressure seemed to be all the way gone. I had to finally get the pedal all the way down to the floor to stop the car from a low rate of speed. After circling around I stopped the car again and noticed that in front of my driveway there was about an 8 ounce spot on the ground (I assume brake fluid). I haven't ever run in to brake issues and was curious on anyone's opinions on what this issue could be. Thanks.

Sounds like you nailed it. Find the leak and fix it, or pay someone else to do it.

How much brake fluid loss before it is 'unsafe' to drive?

You shouldn't drive if it has lost any.

That is what I thought. Time to tow it to the repair shop. Thanks.
