Yeah I'd like to send my kids to college, but wouldn't a GTR be hawt.

m4a1mustang 05-28-2011 08:07 PM

And I would like to buy a house some day! the time for really expensive cars will come!

Lemers 05-28-2011 08:11 PM

I told my wife when the kids are out of the house. Ill be make a retirement check from the military and a second paycheck from my second career then I'll buy ever fast car I want. I'll still be cheap though, and not go too crazy unless I win a lottery.

Im pretty happy that I can keep myself entertained with relatively inexpensive cars. My problem is my desire to get a new one every week. :icon17:

Lemers 05-28-2011 08:16 PM

And that's why even looked at the Shelby this week anyways.

My wife tried to get me to buy a conv g37 when the didn't have the coupe w/ 6mt. That would have been the same cost as the Shelby I saw.

Sorry if I offended you. My bad. I'll leave this thread alone and go on my merry way.

Lemers 05-28-2011 08:19 PM

You didn't offend my. You just assumed something that wasn't true.

SmoothZ 05-28-2011 08:26 PM

Oh, I see. I think you misunderstood my reply to you. I wasn't assuming anything about you. I was making a general statement about buying something that seems spendy.

I went back and read it. It's fixed now.

I've always had mustangs growing up. If you want a supercharged mustang the Roush will blow a Shelby out of the water. Anyways me and my fiance have 4 kids together, are getting married this year and honeymooning in Cancun for a week. So she always throws it in my face that she is the greatest for jsut letting me have the car. However I have set up a savings account just for the mods!!!!

No Mustang has ever been considered Supercar worthy. Its great for straight line red light to next red light but it seriously lacks Supercar handling. Its great for throwing around curves and fishtailing like the Bandit. And now they want to add more power to it when the power it has now cant be applied to the ground?

Is that so? and who are you to judge this exactly? Dont know if you know this, but a $45k daily driver put down a better lap time at Laguna Seca than an Audi R8... so what again, makes a supercar?

Perhaps a quick read for enlightenment.....

The Audi A8 doesnt come in a V6 base model like a Mustang, therefore the Mustang will never be a "supercar" in my opinion.

GT500 was last in all categories. Although that comparison is not fair to the Mustang because the other cars were WAY more technically advanced.

Even the test driver said the Mustang has the most power but cant apply it without losing traction.

As I stated before, its brute power thats useful to flog around for fun. But serious performing supercar it is not.

The Mustang outperformed the the GS in the lateral Gs. The Mustang has 112 more hp than the GS and yet only was able to beat the GS in lateral Gs and price.
