2011 Nissan GT-R vs Cadillac Station Wagon
 

To those of you who remember the video of the Hennessey Cadillac station wagon vs the Porsche 911 that someone posted a few weeks ago, it looks like they've made another one. This time they put the station wagon against the 2011 GT-R. The Caddy wins in the 1/4 mile by 0.1 sec. I wonder why they didn't put it up against the 2012 GT-R? :rolleyes:

They might not have had a 2012 GT-R available? Why u gotta get so butthurt that someone beat the GT-R, Shahid? :stirthepot:

I guess, but I feel it was more because they knew they couldn't beat the 2012. It's still impressive for such a heavy station wagon.

That's totally reasonable then. They're (sorta) streetable tires at least.

Very streetable so long as you're not driving them in any rain.

I believe the previous video with the Porsche is where we got the epic exclusive comment. Let's see what we can get now :D

Useless compare... Put the tires on the GTR and it would win...

GTR has a lot of left over potential from stock... Caddy is maxed out... So there is plenty of substitute....

Honestly, the Caddy will never be able to compete, it doesn't come in nearly enough shades of grey.

Not really. It's basically saying if you give us your money, we can make your Caddy Wagon faster in a 1/4 mile than a GT-R. Doesn't matter how it does so. I can guarantee they will get some sales for their performance package just from ppl watching these videos.

+1. They appeal to a totally different market too. I would love to have a fast Caddy wagon just for bragging rights.

Haha, just went on the Caddy website and out of 6 colors available for the wagon, 3 are gray. It's 4 if you include black. Other 2 colors are red and white.

I'm sure they'll get sales and it's useful for that.

I meant it's useless as a true car to car comparison, if you look a little further at what they compare and by how much it wins... Maybe meaningless is a better word...

Yeah, but I think it's obvious that it wasn't meant as a true car to car comparison.

The caddy won and it cost less is what they are trying to show. But if everyone thought like that then why don't we all just buy a base civic and slap 10k on it and it would be faster then most cars 50k and under.

thats a slow time for a stock 11 GT-R... since it has the improved launch control over the 2010... it should run 11.6/11.5 all day long


stock 2012.. would have ran 10.9 to 11.1

Was it possible that they didn't use launch control? Don't see why they would if they were trying to show the Caddy is faster.

Apparently AMS is working on an Alpha 12 package for the GT-R and it's making so much power that it's getting wheel spin on the dyno :icon17:

They said they were around 1100 whp with the wheel spin issue last time I checked.

well you can hear it hold to some amount of rpm for a brief second in the video... sounded somewhere just above idle maybe 2K.... just mashing the gas from idle or holding it to say 2500 rpm or less will get you about 11.8ish.. a good pedal to the floor launch at 3300-3500 rpm is 11.5- 11.6 on a 2011

just like when motortrend ran the LFA what did that GTR run a 11.9 or something? c'mon

yeah thats true that why its hard to judge these things after the fact... i ran 11.3-11.9 all because of track prep even so bad when the VDC comes on and babysits and bogs the car down ive ran 12.1s

It's not unbelievable that the Caddy might be faster on a better prepped track as well. Hard to say though.

Yeah. IMO the GT-R had it from the launch. With a little bit of a better launch the GT-R might have taken it. Although the Caddy could have had a better launch too...oh well I guess we'll never know :rolleyes:

But... does it really matter? Honestly anything can take anything given any variety of circumstances at any time, anywhere.

You can stop making excuses about losing to that Yugo.
