Co-worker (loves mustangs) said someone is complaining on one of his forums that he cannot order the Boss with sync. :rofl2:

I find it strange that ford limited the option of the synch when it really doesnt effect the rest of production on the car.

I think they chose to leave it out because the car is not intended as a "daily driver." If you are really concerned about having Sync you are better off with a Premium GT over a Boss.

This car was built focused as a track car. Adding sync would do nothing but bloat the price (and perhaps the weight?). I love what they did with this car. They took the normal GT, and beat the snot out of it for a year on various tracks, and basically told the engineers everything they needed to "fix" in order for it to be highly competitive on the track.

:iagree: that breed of stang is up there.

Just saying that if I was in the market for the boss I'd want the synch. It's not that much heavier than the regular radio that goes in it.

I think their targeted demographic would chastise them for including Sync in it. I could maybe see it in the regular Boss, but definitely not in the LS. Hell, it wouldn't surprise me if some people were upset that it has speakers and a head unit in it, :rofl2:.

:bowrofl:

I agree. I love the Boss, but I'd never use it as a daily driver. It'd be a weekend warrior / track queen only. Plus you don't need no stinkin' stereo when you've got side-pipe cutouts.

I just can't spend that much money on a car and not drive it every day. And I would use the red key on the road.

Just don't use the red key when you take it in for an emissions inspection. :icon17:

Lemers 02-03-2011 02:13 PM

Inspector: sir I'm afraid you failed emissions

Boss owner: try this blue key

This is actually one of the reasons I'm torn about getting the car. Most people that have dedicated track cars tend to use a cheaper car on the track, and their daily driver is more expensive. In my case, the best I could reasonably do is keep my Z as a DD, or get something cheaper like a Juke. If they would just announce they are doing a 2014 Boss that would make things easier for me.

crash1369 02-03-2011 06:58 PM

...:eekdance: I actually called two ford dealers, and was actually just about to go check out the website.

I never thought I would see the day I would ever be looking at a Mustang... I'm scared :wtf2:

Exactly. That was the ENTIRE! point of the "retro" redesign in 2005. Looks like they hit a home-run considering that you nailed it to the letter without even knowing what you were looking at.

500 per year is no big deal, but Ford is notorious for "Market Adjustments". When I worked for them, we had an FGT that we put a $100K "market adjustment" on and finally sold for $239K (MSRP was $153K).

If you get in a new BOSS at MSRP, it will be a "good deal", considering.

Ford seriously failed to deliver with the new GT500, considering SVT claimed they ran VIR in 2:58.XX and yet the Lightning Lap pegged the car at 3:04, and noone has yet come close to SVT's time. I am waiting until this BOSS is independantly tested to say more than "It looks like a good idea, and the "track key" is a neat feature".
