The G37 sedan is dope. I would def. go with the G over the Maxima. Plus, they have great lease programs with them as well.

7th gen is the current nice looking one that looks like a 4 door 370z. The 6th gen is that bloated one that no one really cared for, the 5th gen (5.5 gen SE) like yours and mine was the last sporty looking Max and is/was well liked. 7th gen is getting its props as well, just that CVT......

The max is a great car for the money. The infiniti is nice, but not worth the extra cash IMO

Anyone here own one or know someone that has one? "newer one of course"

Some may be asking why not a z? Simply put I can not afford the z. For my civic last year for full coverage was almost 610 but with two accidents coming off this winter this will help my insurance rates. But with a sports car they would almsot be in the 600 mark again. Plus the passenger room and the style of the front lights is like a z which I like. I will be getting the sports package for the suspension the HID's and rear led tail lights alos the leather.

Did you check the rates on the Max vs the Z, the insurance rates will most likely not differ that much if at all. Purchase price if new in alot of cases the Max cost more than the Z....Nissan tends to offer rebates on both toward the of model years

if a maxima is stickered for around 32k. u should be able to get em about 25k.

But now consider that if you get the upgraded items you could just end up paying the same for a z. As for insurance, check before you buy, dont assume its going to be higher.

All things being equal, its going to be a higher rate for a 2-door sports car than a 4-door like the Maxima.

lol, matt the maxima is nice, I was set on getting it before the Z. I drove it once and thought its very comfy... it really has everything you need for a great driving experience, very good for the money you pay!

He wants the SV Sport package, they sticker for 37,500. Add the Premium package add another 2,000 to that!

I decided to go with a g37 NEW left over next year. I think I can get one for 28 or so if I work at them.

Yep you are correct they see a z being more of a sports car than a four door sedan.

daisuke149 10-28-2010 04:58 PM

hrmm z is cheaper to insure than my versa in my house.

Antny74 10-30-2010 03:03 AM

I will sell you mine haha I am looking to get into a 370
it's a 2010, definitely a fun car, downside is the cvt tranny, on the other hand it is incredible on the freeways and is definitely a quick car for its class while at speed

They are quick from a dig, too. GMTraitor went 13.93 @ 100.5x last week when we went to the track and he's bone stock. I was pretty surprised.

bluelion 12-13-2010 09:28 PM

i have a 2010 maxima and i love the styling better over a G37....but i don't like the fact that the maxima has close to nothing for aftermarket parts and also that it's FWD. if it was the exact powerplant of the g37, i'd still pick the maxima over the g37.
