Honestly I don't know how much the auto would be able to handle. 600whp would probably be 550+ lb-ft which is a lot of torque being fed through the transmission. At the very least you'd need a cooler.
The one good thing, though, is that you can count on it that someone involved with the Mustang aftermarket is questioning how much power the drivetrain can handle. I'm sure there are already upgrades in the works. That aftermarket is incredibly robust... there's an aftermarket solution to EVERYTHING. |

What a surprise - a bunch of guys on a 370z forum favoring their car of choice over a Mustang. I just can't believe it..
I respect the 5.0 |

It is a straight line car. All muscle cars are... The Z is NOT a straight line car however is more of a sports car. I don't see anything wrong with what people are saying. So far everyone has said they like it, its just a different type of car. I completely respect it as well however its not a sports car. I will race it on a road course not on a drag strip where all muscle cars live |
great review! there's a reason why you see mustangs everywhere, affordable price and fast!

I know where to find them if I really really want to have a go at it, and they have invited me out. |

Yeah and post evidence.
I wonder what is the normal time for the Z? |
Low 13s with a good driver. I think the best magazine time is a 13.1 with the 7AT.

And if I know one thing about Matt, it's that he's not really good at getting things started. ;) |
Haha yeah.

The pink window tint is my favorite part. You know how Mercedes use that blue tint that makes everything outside look bluer and fresher and makes you feel like, "hot damn, I'm driving a Benz -- life is great!"... This is just like that expcept pink.
I bet that would sell like hotcakes in Japan. |
Once again, here we go again comparing Muscle Cars to Sport Cars... :shakes head:

However, I will NOT mind driving this car, though I will never trade the Z for it. Once the Z is paid off ;). I have been craving for a low end tq monster! (540 HP/510 ft/lbs tq) http://www.stangnet.com/images/stori...0_gt500_07.jpg http://www.stangnet.com/images/stori...0_gt500_06.jpg or black. |
I don't really view it that way at all, because the Mustang aftermarket is so huge you can really take the car wherever you want... street, strip, or track... it's endless. A little suspension work and you will turn the GT into an uncompromised corner carver.
|
I would take that Shelby over the Z though...

I'm curious, wonder if theres any penis envy amongst the 4.6L owners about the 5.0, kinda like the 350Z owners about the 370, you hear anything like that M4A1? |

I was at a gas station the other day with a 350 Nismo (he was at the pump ahead of me) and said "nice car" to him. He said in the most rude, pretentious way, "Yeah." What a douchefaggot that guy ways. |

When driving the GT-R around, I give 370z owners a big thumbs down.. I work for Merck, makers of Hyzaar high blood pressure medicine, and giving the thumbs down is good for business.
