Father wants to upgrade his GT-R
Yes I know that this is a 370 forum but my father is started to think about upgrading his GT-R.
+ I don't really know where I can fit it where plenty of people can share their ideas. So yeah he is thinking about upgrading parts like brakes and so on. he is not really interested at really changing anything about the engine since he doesn't want to void the warranty on that(which I agree with) So what parts/ companies do you advise. One thing he seriously wants is a nice body kit. |

vegitto-kun- is that the current GT-R? wow

Why is the one license plate different than the other two? |
Because they first used the license plate they had on the megane because they were waiting for the custom one since they wanted 007-GTR but it took some weeks so they just put the license plate from the megane on it

You can take a look at our full GT-R catalog, with all kinds of upgrades..
http://blog.stillen.com/wp-content/g.../GTR_Cover.jpg As far as brakes, we have done a ton of the AP Racing Slotted or J-Hook rotor upgrades. They last longer than the factory setup, and are less expensive, and outperform. We also have different pad options. http://blog.stillen.com/wp-content/g...rotors_450.jpg http://www.stillen.com/product_images/NIS3900J.jpg http://blog.stillen.com/wp-content/g...awayWeb450.jpg We've done a video outlining some of the differences here: AP Racing GT-R Rotor Upgrade Video : STILLEN |

Nice~~! :D

Everything is relative.. I'm sure there is a guy in a Sentra saying if he was driving a 370Z he would be happy with it as is.. because the level of performance is on a different level.. kinda the same with the GT-R.
It can ABSOLUTELY big improved upon, but like anything takes the right product selection, and factoring in what the vehicle's plans are. Take for example our Carbon Ceramic Brake Rotor upgrade.. one of (if not the only) aftermarket Carbon Ceramic upgrade in the world, when you normally find these setups on high end Ferrari's and the supercars of the world. May seem expensive up front, but these rotors basically don't wear out, as the factory ones do, so over owning the car for years, this is actually an economic upgrade, in addition to the superior performance (and coolness factor.. :) ) http://www.stillen.com/product_images/APCC1000.jpg |

Just because we can afford Zs and drool over GTRs does not mean the ppl who afford them arnt drooling over a Lambo or Porsche... its all relative - to a guy driving a civic (an enthusiast) pines over Zs and would love to accept the Z in standard form... but as every owner of every car is going to want something unique - you will see many such customizations... |
GTR is a beast but looks ugly. Get a Zele bodykit for it!

He should first get a tune.
Best bang for the buck. Then he can start with some boltons. Cosmetics come later imo! |
haha i quite like the tommy kaira kit for the gt-r. i think its nice a subtle but it DEFINITELY sets you apart from other gt-r owners. on the pricy side tho as most japanese import stuff.

Really though, on a car like a GT-R. I would keep it "100% JDM" |

Personally I feel our car looks better, for the Nismo maybe they should have put the gtr engine into the Z... and they should make a gtr nismo with 6 turbos... one for each cylinder... that would be awesome... |

haha ur best bet is still to go over to Nagtroc, they got reviews on just about everything over there. everything from lip kits from mines, to full on body kits like the tommy i mentioned before.

Void your warranty!
Who needs it anyways! D: |

Hmmm.....I can't even imagine what it's like to hear a parental figure say they want a bodykit for their GT-R.

and then you see your dad in your 370 coming in your street...half drifting tires smoking. followed by your mother in the GT-R with squeeling tires. Then they see you and drive past you slowly :roflpuke2: |
I thought it was your dads Z?

We split the cost. I paid half of it and he paid half of it and I am paying him off. Thus making it both of our cars untill I pay him off Quote:
But my father is a odd man. one moment he is against all form of mods on my car and then out of nowhere he is like "the 370 should look more sporty lets lower it and put on some fat tires and a body kit and oh yeah I might import a new complete brake system for the GT-R because you never know when I will go on a track" I am trying to get him interested into carbon ceramic brakes for the GT-R while I want some of that delicious greddy BBK |

:iagree: or i can give you a general run down of the basics. really depends on his goals i would say step 1 is a midpipe hands down .. they run $500-800 and give you around 15hp and a totally different sound for the car.. its past the O2 sensors so not really any type of issue... its probably the most common simple and effective mod GTR owners do.. and a nice catback to be added after that if you want a differnet exhaust look.. next a COBB flash usually 40-70hp and on up from a canned to custom tune with some bolt ons like downpipes.. Cobb with exhaust parts make of the vast majority of modded GTRs on NAGTROC as far as bored with the looks.. besides wheels and carbon trim addons there isnt alot to be done with the car with out getting really expensive really fast.. we have a lot of vendors who offer carbon replacement wings and lips... and a bunch of wheels to choose from when the time comes aftermarket rotors and pads are a cheaper and better peforming option than OEM... the stillen AP jhooks or vaned combined with some carbotech pads are probably the most cost efficeint to performance ratio way to go thats a brief overview of the most popular tuning route for these cars |

Again just my opinion. |
he is not odd. Everything you typed below sounds very normal to me.

It looks like a cross between a 350Z front with a Vette back. The flow of the overall lines just doesn't match moving from front to back of the car. It's as if there were two designs and it was decided a compromise would have to do. Real FUGLY for sure... The GT-R should have never happened and the current engine of the GT-R should have been dropped into the Nismo Z and that become the high-sport end for Nissan to capitalize upon. Call it the Nismo 370Z GT-R. |

Knowing him he will probably get a 370 roadster next year because he apparently prefers the 370 to the GTR
