It looks like the surrounds of the subs may hit the floor? Maybe not? Also, if that false floor gets wet, it is going to bow up and splt.....MDF would be better here IMO. Maybe 3/8 inch.

You should wrap the kicks if at all possible.....If you don't wrap and continue to paint, you need to use what is called "icing" to touchup the imperfections in the bondo.
Oh yeah, glad the car is automatic.........no room for a clutch pedal with those kicks
