2018 Ford Mustang GT Acceleration - New Mustang Quarter-Mile Time

Holy crap!!! 11.83 and under 4 to 60.

Really? No one finds this interesting?

Jayhovah 01-09-2018 07:58 AM

It's incredible.

EZT 01-09-2018 08:10 AM

Boy they are going to sell a ton of those. Probably going to spawn some more Mustang memes too.

zeeder 01-09-2018 08:31 AM

I never thought I’d say this but the Mustang and Camaro are making me cosider considering them when I’m ready for my next sports car.

You know they really have seemed to address the GT's issues....but once you add on the performance pack and a few other options like magnetic ride, its a 50K car. For that you can get a used GT350 these days or a C7, a really nice one. At least feel good that we have these choices today, and I say that as a person that grew up in the 70's and 80's, right after the muscle car era ended and all we had were V8 150 HP GT Mustangs with really nice great stickers and rear louvers.

That’s a good point. But a fully loaded brand new GT with warranty, full box of toys, tech and comfort for under $50, or a used hardcore track car/sports car. For my purposes at least, it puts me negotiating for floor mats. Can you lease these you think?

I have been attracted to the new generation of muscle cars for a while now... but I just can't stomach the thought of driving something it feels like EVERYONE has. If I didn't care about that, I'd probably have bought a C6 instead of a Z+Turbos.

:iagree:

just priced one out, amazing it is, but then again I like my Z

Moostangs are a dime a dozen! I agree, they are fast though.

Completely agree! As a former owner of a C5 and a couple of Mustangs, I can’t fathom getting back into modern muscle cars no matter how fast they’ve become. Way too many out there.

I just find it remarkable how far it’s evolved. It’s not just quick any longer. You’re talking near supercar numbers for a plain Jane Ford Mustang GT. It’s staggering.

Zingston 02-19-2018 08:46 PM

It's not just the GT. Ford is suggesting sub 5 60s for the 2.3 ecoboost entry Mustang. The power they've been able to bleed from that 2.3 is truly impressive!

With no new Z option materializing, think I see a Mustang GT in my future.

sunkist350z 02-19-2018 10:31 PM

Impressive it is, but I still would never buy a mustang nor a ford.

Lvcky69 02-19-2018 11:07 PM

not impressed at all
