Fast it is but it's like a yellow cab in NYC. The only Ford I would consider is 78" tall and 5500 lbs.

This is a very very good observation. Recently like, possibly last spring or summer the #1 selling sports-car here in Germany was the Mustang-GT.
The amount of power is superb given the price. To obtain something like this here would cost more than double the amount potentially.

I give the current Mustangs full respect for the power and fun avail at a more than reasonable cost in the larger scheme.

Most any modern car will be faster than you need in a daily. Hell, even the Accord and Camry have mid 5 second 0-60's while carrying the baby and grandma. Even in my Z I can never drive it at more than 7/10ths or I'm going too fast for the city.

To me anymore it's how much you enjoy the character of the car, and the Mustang GT (2017) when I tested it felt like driving a marshmallow with an awful interior. I REALLY wanted to like it because on paper they're a killer deal.

Don't get me wrong, I love that supercar performance is becoming accessible for everyone and Ford and Chevy are forcing everyones hand to compete.

the power is superb and I do like how they look. However, power isnt even on my top 3 when it comes to my wants for a car, when I looking to buy. Hence why, in the past 12 years Iv owned a 350z, g37, g35, and now a 370z

They are an amazing piece of kit, especially for the price. No wonder you see so many.

But, given those numbers and the stereotypical Mustang driver, it has to be said...

:icon17: My favorite number for any SHELBY Mustang is the additional price markup number added to the sticker price

:ugh: 10,000.00 over the sticker price :wtf2: because its rare and hard to come bye

Note to Ford Motor.. If the SHELBY Mustang is so marketable just build more of them :bowrofl::roflpuke2::bowrofl:

:rofl2::rofl2:

Years ago you needed to crank up the radio to mask the squeaks and rattles in a moostang. Now FORD has just increased the decibels of the exhaust to hide all of the unpleasant sounds caused by poor workmanship.

seriously.... Impressive numbers, for sure, but useless on the road everyday. Every time you blink, you see a mustang or a camaro. on a daily basis I see (without exxageration) 25 or more of each. No thanks. I'm lucky to see a Z once a month.

This all day. It’s not the price keeping us out of the Pony, it’s the desire. Numbers are great on paper but how does it make YOU feel?

Everyone's hand...except for Nissan. Who chooses to compete only in price. And what I mean by that is: release a car that costs almost as much as the performance cars but has half the power. Don't get me wrong, I love my Z and couldn't imagine rolling in a car that sets the bar in terms of "me too" commonality. But for Nissan to use that as a crutch for releasing the same underpowered (by comparison) current gen Z year after year is unacceptable imo.

Nissan arguably started the entire thing:

Having owned a Ford Mustang GT before unfortunately. They are very unreliable and undependable vehicles to own and can be total lemons. The term fix or repair daily they were not kidding.

Was just reading a post on my350z.com of a guy who purchased an 18 GT a few months ago and motor just blew. Was not being abused.....

So let me get this straight... we here on a Nissan forum have resorted to bashing Ford? I mean, don't get me wrong, I love my 370z, but also think it's the stand-out model of the current Nissan offering given its looks, performance and value (yeah i like the GTR also). If it weren't for the 370z, Nissan would be dead to me. Additionally, if you google any make or model + 'lemon' youll find plenty examples (not just Ford) of unhappy buyers to fuel that side of an argument. In my experience, (not an article I read once) my Jeeps have been bulletproof, while the Mercedes has proven to be the biggest POS headache I've ever had to deal with. Just sayin...
